my cousin had his reception at Avalon, downtown fargo.  it was very nice!  there's also the country club.

The Air Museum is supposed to be wonderful. Parks, like Island Park, or Trollwood. Hope that helps.

I recently found out that the Red River Zoo has receptions.  I think that would be amazing.

The Plains Art Museum is also very cool for weddings but the rental alone is $2,000.

plains art museum also requires at least $3000 be spent on food and your decorations have to be approved by the staff, but it is the most uniques place that I've found

Although like the others said the Plains Art is spendy it is an absolutely amazing reception venue.  A cousin of mine got married last summer.  She had her wedding ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown then we walked over to the Plains Art for the reception.  They had a cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres on the main floor and there was a different course on each level leading up.  It was very cool.
