Tea Party Bridal Shower

Hello!

I am the maid of honor for my best friend's upcoming wedding.  We are throwing her a tea party bridal shower.

My issue is that I don't know where to find tea cups and saucers at a fairly reasonable price for the number that I need to obtain.  I was thinking of just finding various different pieces to make it look 'vintage-y', but whenever I search for anything I come up with extremely expensive sets that are collectibles.

Can anyone please help me?

Re: Tea Party Bridal Shower

  • Have you tried Dollar Tree Store or Christmas Tree Shop? You may have to go to a few different stores, depending on how many tea cups you need. Or call your mom, the mob etc.. to borrow tea cups and serving plates. They definitely don't have to match.

  • I had to laugh when I read this.  My MOH is doing the same thing for me, and I thought you were her until I realized you are in the wrong part of the country.  Some suggestions:

    Big Lots
    Craft Stores (Michaels, Hobby Lobby)
    Antique Stores
    Flea Market
    Goodwill and similar stores
    Anniversary
  • I agree with Nindakay. I would be surprised if you couldn't find good ones between Goodwill and a few flea markets. I think shopping locally will be much easier than online for this one.
  • I agree with everyone; Goodwill and flea markets are the way to go! Also check out yard sales! Now that the weather is getting nicer, there's sure to be some more. It makes it look cuter if they don't all match. It gives it a sort of homey feel.
