So of all the decisions that needed to be made for the wedding, I put FI in charge of music. I don't care about music, I would play an iPod all night if it were up to me, but he's a music guy- classically trained, loves classic jazz, really appreciates good music. So he opted for a live band. And a good one. Like the 2nd most expensive band in Northeast Ohio. The price made me sick to my stomach, but as he convinced me we could afford it and that it would totally be worth it, I let go of the wheel and put him in charge here.
Well, as wedding planning is now kicked up a notch, I've been in contact with all of the vendors quite a bit lately. The band is by far the MOST COMPLICATED vendor I've had to deal with. I'm constantly complaining about all the hoops those divas are making us jump through. FI takes my complaints personally since it was his only wedding decision. And frankly, I would too.
Examples: If they are going to set up a sound system for the ceremony, they want an extra $150. Fine. If they are going to set up before guests arrive they want yet another $150. Wait. What?! You want $150 to be professional? And we have to buy you dinner? And you won't come to any meetings? And we have to give you 30 days notice of any songs we want that aren't on the list- a document you didn't give us until 31 days before the wedding? WHAT?!
We have a meeting with them tomorrow and FI thinks if I'm not 100%, we need to fire them 3 weeks before the wedding. I said I'm looking forward to them delivering- and I'm sure they will. But I'm not dealing with them. He's super offended. Am I wrong?
