idea...need thoughts

So.......been trying to think of nonfloral centerpieces.. Picture this.. Square vases, Put some cloth the color blue that is our main color and scrunch it in the bottom where its not flat..add a discoball ornament for the pop of silver against the blue (plus I really wanted to incorporate discoballs anyway), a pine cone (fi works for the forestry so it fits) another discoball and another pine cone. Cute or tacky? If tacky any other non floral suggestions?

what if you did something like this?....

IDK how many tables you have but the vases are at Michaels for 9.99 (10" bubble vase) use a 40 or 50% coupon that's almost $5 a piece.  (we have 25 tqables and are using these vases in a similar way) The candle's you can buy at the dollar store.  I'm just not sure where you'd get the disco ornaments, but you could add blue crystals in with the disco ornaments to incorporate your blue color (also have them at the dollar store).  But I was thinking to incorporate the pinecones you could scatter a few around the outside of the vase on the table with a few more of the blue crystals and disco globes?  So maybe $15 or $20 for the centerpiece/table?

I love your idea of using the blue and the disco balls.  The colors would be so pretty together.  Hope I helped a little.  Good luck! can't wait to see what you come up with.

  • I like the discoball idea!! I think for pinecones, I'd have to see a sample. It could be very cute but it could also get weird. It depends on how it's done. Try a mockup and post pics!

  • Yeah not sure how the disco ball and the pine cone would look together. What if you do manzanita trees and hang disco ball ornaments on it and have the blue fabric on the bottom or the pine cones on the bottom. You could do many variations of this. Good luck!

  • I like ReyesToy's idea the best.  I'm not sure how the pinecones would look with the disco balls either.  The manzanita branches seem like that would be a better way of incorporating the forestry thing.  Maybe you could do/make some type of mirror mosiac container for the manzanita branch and then have the fabric around the base of it.  Just throwing different ideas out there.

  • We're on a budget lol this is all going to be DIY and those branches can't be picked up out of the yard, pine cones can...and I'm just talking about short square vases like from the dollar store. The most expensive thing would be the fabric. We have $100 to decorate both the church + reception. I was thinking a little country (the pine cones) and a little Gaga (the disco balls) and that matches us and shows how different we are.
