Table help

So we are having 35 people at our wedding (5-6 tables) and it is right near the beach so we are using lots of coral & starfish in our decorations.  Anyways I found this adorable coral place card holders (clicky) and I was planning on doing the name cards on white card stock mounted on cobalt blue cardstock (one of our colours) with handwritten names.

Anyways the question is, with a group this small, do I need to do table numbers and escort cards or could I just put these place cards on the tables (according to a seating chart I will make up) and people could wander around to find their place??  I'm really not sure whether that would get too congested, but I don't see the need for escort cards since the group is so small??  I really don't care how we do it, as long as I get to use the coral place card holders.

Any ideas??

ETA:  That pic of the coral looks pretty crap....they don't look as plastic in person...they actually look and feel like real coral!

Could you post a seating chart? I think even with 5 tables it's sort of a pain to walk around and look at every place card to see if your name is one it. But I think if you posted a chalk board with the table #1s or just a printed sign, that would do the trick, rather than making individual escort cards.

I went to a wedding where they didn't have table numbers, instead the tables were named after their favorite dates together. It was an f-ing pain in the ass to walk up to every table, see if it was your table name, then go to the next one because there was no logical order. And of course our table was the last one we checked.

I'll be honest, I like table numbers & placecards not because it gets congested, but because I forget where I'm sitting and the number really helps me find my way back to that.  Maybe - probably - it's my struggle with ADD, but if I get up to go to the bathroom and come back, even with only 6 tables it's easier if I have a number to look for, because I easily miss faces when I'm looking for a table.  Unless there are specific "landmarks" in the area the tables are in (e.g. paintings, columns, etc.) I can get absurdly lost in a small place, and it's kind of traumatizing.

I agree with PP that maybe a posted seating chart with their names and the table listed would help ease congestion. Keep in mind this means you are putting people in specific chairs, not just tables and is that an extra pain to deal with? If you just did an escort card table it would eliminate that issue.

I definitely have moments where I do this too.  I definitely look for objects that are around me when I sit down at a table and look for them again when I need to go back.  Something as simple as a table number would definitely help.
