Ceremony Timing?

This may be a silly question-

My brother will be our officiant, so I basically have created our ceremony based off of what I read/researched online. Ideally we would like to keep it short, but there are some important parts that I want included.

What is the best way to try to gauge how long our ceremony is? Did you and your FI do a run through and then add a few extra mins to it? Do you think it will go by faster or slower when the big day gets here?

    I wrote ours as well; I basically went through it speaking each part, officiant's, FI's and mine to get an idea of how long it would be.  And yeah, I think adding a few minutes on to that makes sense.  I think it will go slower the day of than the run through.

    I wrote ours too and estimated the timing but I thought that it might go faster on the day of... maybe I should rethink that. When I'm nervous or excited, I talk faster than usual and think that most of us do.

    I'm estimating a 1/2 hour but who the heck knows? It could be 10 mins or 45! LOL
