Wedding Woes

::oface::

DK's Tough Mudder is on Saturday. It's near Austin, but still about 30 miles outside of town/away from our hotel.

Wolverine and I are going to cheer him on.

His wave is the first of the day (8am) - so I'm assuming they'll be done at 11ish.

How much do i need to cover my car seat for the post-race drive back to Austin?
Will an afternoon nap be enough for us to have a chance to go out for a while at night? (or will he likely be too worn out to want to do anything)

Re: ::oface::

  • Bring a full change of clothes.  He will want to take off his shorts, shake out, and put on new clothes.  Bring like a trash bag to cover car windows...and another to put his nasty clothes in.  This is if he plans on changing at your vehicle.  Also...baby wipes...and anything that will get out he dirt from his "close" places...lol.  I seriously had mud falling out from places..and mud in my EARS.  It sound nearly impossible but entirely true.

    LUCKY that he is the first wave...it will be much less muddy.

  • I see I didn't read all of your post (SHOCKING!).  It depends...he might want to nap or just lay low for about 2 hours after...then it should be business as usual.  Of course it really depends on his "normal" level of activity.  And the level of the course, all courses are different per the location.

    Also, yes bring about 3 towels...that should be plenty.

  • also, is there enough going on at the event to keep an (almost) 2-yo entertained for 3-4 hours? (or am i better off driving back to the hotel for a couple of hours?)
  • 3-4 hours?  No.  1-2, yes.

    It is a lot of standing around, milling about, there are keg throwing contests and live tattooing, probably not for a toddler though.

  • ok. thanks. we're trying to work out carpooling with some of the other folks to avoid the big round trip

    unfortunately the TM is out in the middle of nowhere.
  • TM's are usually in the middle of nowhere.  Our's was at a ski resort...HILLS OF HELL.

    Carpooling is definitely ideal.
