Any wedding diets out there?

Have you girls been on any "diets" or changing any eating/exercise routines to prepare for the big day?

Re: Any wedding diets out there?

  • I've officially rejoined Weight Watchers. It works for me and I don't see it as dieting, but more like learning to eat properly regarding portion size especially. I go to the gym now too but that's more because I want to be healthy. I didn't used to be very active so I'm trying to change that.

  • I started weight watches again last week and going to the gym more often. I'm hoping to lose 60 plus pounds before the wedding. My dress finally came in and was a bit small :( I've lost 4 pound my first week and I just have to keep it going.
  • I'm more conscience about what I eat I track it on my fitness pal and I try hit gym. I'm not on a huge diet I won't deprive myself of food or sweet treats ill just eat minimal.
  • I started following the wheat belly "diet" about a month after we got engaged and lost about 15 lbs. before our engagement pictures.

I haven't been as strict lately, but still completely avoiding wheat and gluten. I plan on going to the gym to tone up as it gets closer. I'm happy with my weight but just want my arms to look good in my strapless dress.

  • I started weigh watchers for the first time a few weeks ago, but not just because of wedding...generally I keep just gaining weight.  Not much, but a tiny bit at a time and over the last year in particular I've noticed a difference.  I do need to lose just a bit before the wedding...maybe 5 pounds ish for my dress to fit better.  The last year has been really stressful work wise which has been part of the reason I havn't been good with excersize/diet.  I'm starting a new job in a week or two, so hopefully that will help with the stress, but I'll be driving way way more, so I'm not sure what that will do!

  • I started walking on my breaks and lunch time while at work.  I cut out chips, sugar and soda.  I cut down the carbs...I love the carbs!!! LOL
  • I'm just trying to watch portion size better, avoid sweets and chips. I don't drink pop either so that's good. I'm trying to get my running legs back in shape (I did a 1/2 marathon in 2010 & two 10-mile races) and am trying to not take more than 1 day off in between exercise. I've found that I lose endurance pretty quickly. Yesterday I ran 1.75 miles and felt great!

  • I use My Fitness Pal to keep track of everything I eat. I absolutely love it because I have the app on my phone and take it everywhere. I have been going to the gym appx 3 days a week (but I definitely need to crank up my workouts a bit more.

One piece of advice someone gave me a long time ago. The best thing a bride can do is grab a few small hand weights and use them daily.... DAILY for an hour while watching tv. I did this last time and dropped 2 bra sizes and my upper body looked great. The rest is hidden under the dress :)

  • Been using my fitness pal since Sept 2nd, have lost about 5 lbs since then. Plan on just maintaining the weight loss over the holidays. But the weights are helpful.
  • I've been on WW for about 3.5 years now, so to be honest, I have the food part down... My issue is working out.... the issue is, I don't (being active is a part of WW as well, I just have avoided it)... I need to lose about 20 lbs before my 1st dress fitting (which will be in March, so I have time). So my big plan isn't dieting, it's getting active and getting my big butt in gear. I just struggle to keep up with it... I get ambitious for about a week or two and then stop... I can't seem to keep up any exercise I start.

  • I just posted a new message about Weight Watchers before finding ths board. Maybe we could start a weekly chat about how our weightloss journey is going? I only actually know 2 people who are on WW so it would be nice to talk to someone else about it.
