Also Megan I read your post from the other day and I'm really sorry that everyone in your family is crazy. I hope the funeral/after-event went okay today (I know those are really rough) and that the rest of your trip is less dramatic.

My rant for the day is about how I think it's utterly ridiculous that there had to be a "discussion" at work today because the woman who graciously made me a birthday cake last week brought what was left home at the end of the day. Apparently, people were pissed off that it wasn't left at work overnight because they didn't work a shift that day and they didn't get to have any. Really people?! Last time I checked, it was a gift for me. She offered for me to bring it home and I said no because my mom had one waiting for me at her house and my son's bday was 3 days later (cake overload!!).

Because of people being stupid/childish/ridiculously sensitive over a non-issue, we will likely no longer be able to have cakes for people on their birthdays "out of fairness for everyone". WTF?!

I hate how much companies charge to ship things to Canada. I found a bathing suit I love and it only costs $35!!!! But......shipping is $38 (and that's not even including duty!). If I ship it to Point Roberts, WA....about an hour from my house....they only charge $7. WTF!!! I swear I have spent like $500 on shipping costs alone for this wedding.....

I feel your pain. I always try to find things within Canada first, but it's not always possible! I once ordered specialized floor mats for my step dad's car that I couldn't get in Canada. The floor mats cost $80 and the shipping cost a total of $70 with duties and taxes. FTW?

I just want to do my job. For once I want to go into work and stop putting out fires.

There's a small voice in my head saying, "Meh, it's a part of the job." but there's another part of me that's really upset I'm going into double digits in a month and haven't even started my case notes. Is sitting at my desk for more than an hour really that much to ask?

janeash my friend in Canada will order things, send them to me (no sales tax either), and then send me $$ to ship it to her. It ends up being SO much cheaper and faster.

I'm annoyed with work stuff. FI is also leaving tomorrow thru Tuesday and I'm jealous because I never get to just go for long periods of time. And if I did, I would take him with me. Instead, I get dog duty. Wooo friggin hooo.

I had my hair and makeup trials, and I'm not really happy with either. The makeup isn't too bad, but I feel like I could do it better myself, so thats probably what I'm going to wind up doing. My hair on the other hand, I have no idea how to do myself, and I absolutely hated the trial

I wish I could go somewhere else, but I really don't have the extra money. I am so confused and really don't know what to do. I've been crying about this for the past four days, and can't think of any solution.

My mom's family isn't normally too bad (minus that one aunt, her husband, and her kids). The stress of everything and having to deal with each other for so long just finally climaxed and everyone went nuts. Thinks were normal (luckily) so far today. I'm hoping dinner in a few minutes goes well.

In better news, the service today was really nice. I'm not even catholic (my grandma was) and I thought the service was nice. Everyone gave us compliments about how everything from the service, to the food, to the speechs were. My speech went over very well. I talked about memories with my grandma, advice she gave me, and how she made me a better person.

<div>Ya I actually found a place just across the border that will receive packages and hold them for you for only $3.50!! I guy I work with does it all the time. All I have to do is pay taxes on them when I bring them across into Canada. Total shipping = $10.50. Much better than $38!!!</div>

Can you tell them you didn't like it and maybe take some pictures in that you do like and have them redo it? I don't think they should charge more for that??
