Honeymoon on slim budget...

I rellay want to have a good honeymoon. We both will have time off work and really want to get away. I have a set up for my daughter and everything. But, with the wedding we are crazy tapped. We are pushing everything we have at the wedding. Can anyone think of some cheap travel Ideas where we won't have to pay out the tush? We both are born and raised colorado so we wanted to maybe try to get to a beach... Maybe Hawaii but that is large amounts of expensive. Any ideas?? Help!!

Thanks!

I think telling us a budget would be the easiest way to figure out what you can afford.

[QUOTE]Destin, FL is very nice. I would highly recommend. Go on VRBO.com for places to stay - Beach Retreat, Crystal Dunes, Maravilla. I can give you more info if you want! What time of year are you going on a HM?

The goal is about 1500 at the MOST! I love the cruise idea... maybe I can find a cheap one of those... never been on one so maybe it's the best choice. Also thinking of registering for a honeymoon on honeyfund.com has anyone done that before?

[QUOTE]Honeymoon registries are considered to be rude and tacky by many people. Please don't do this! Have the honeymoon that you can afford. Here are some good cruise options for you. http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=21146 http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=28765 http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=28807 All of these cruises sail out of Galveston, TX which isn't too far for you. Remember that you will need money for airfare, tips, drinks, and shore excursions. Here is another cruise (7 days!) out of L.A. that gives CO residents a special discount. http://www.vacationstogo.com/fastdeal.cfm?deal=20785

We're doing a carnival cruise out of Tampa, FL. It's a 7 day cruise to Mexico, Belize, Roatan Island, and Cayman Islands. We went through Atlas Tours. We are paying around 1500 for the both of us and that;s for a room with a balcony. Atlas is also giving us $50 onboard credit. Cruising is great because you won't have to worry about the extra costs of food, gas, hotel, etc all adding up.

I highly recommend Homeaway.com -- people rent out their condos for way cheaper than you'd imagine. Flying to Hawaii might be expensive, but you could easily get a place in Hawaii for as low as maybe $700 a week which is way cheaper than the resorts. No matter where you decide to go (unless it's a cruide obviously) I would check it out.

Hi, we are on a budget as well. We are getting married next weekend and are going to Costa Rica for our honeymoon~We are staying at the Riu Guanacaste-It's all inclusive. We booked through the Resort itself and are staying for $1400.00. We are flying down on buddy passes.

You can't beat that! It may be something you want to look into. OH-and you DO NOT have to pay for the week ahead of time if you book through the resort. We pay when we get down there. We have gotten a good bit of money throughout our engagement and that is what we are putting it towards, so it may work for you as well.

    Good luck!

There are very afforable All inclusive resorts in mexico and dominican republic. I found one in the DR for $700 and thats for 10 nights! With the flights and everything you could stay under $1500 easily. Or you could honeymoon in florida if you're really looking for an affordable beach honeymoon. Marco Island is really nice and it's close to the everglades and shopping in Miami.

For your budget, I would do Destin, Fla. I would not go on a cheap cruise mainly because the inexpensive rooms are so tiny. Of course, you have never been to one so you have nothing to compare it to. I would stay in the US with a lean budget. Also, Hilton Head Island in SC is great except in the winter.Good Luck
