Small wedding venue

I am looking for a venue to host both a ceremony and reception for 35-40 people.  We really want to have the wedding on a Saturday evening.  Are there any nice locations in the Chester/Montgomery/Delaware/Bucks County area that can accomodate this?

Re: Small wedding venue

  • What time of year are you looking at? Most places require a minimum of around 100 for a Saturday evening wedding during peak wedding months.

  • If you decide to go into center city the Hilton Garden Inn doesnt have a min. for Saturday evenings and can accommodate your number of people. The prices for a sit down 3 course meal, including wedding cake, 4 hour bar, tax, service charge, overnight room is $90.00pp but will customize to fit your needs.. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • I would look into B&Bs/Inns. Faunbrook in West Chester only fits a max of 80 people.

  • Shearer Elegance B&B in Limerick is a Victorian Mansion in Limerick that does small wedding ceremonies and receptions.  It's beautiful!
  • Lower Chichester Fire Hall in Linwood, PA would be perfect for your ceremony/reception!

They don't have a minimum of people.

  • I would look at a restaurant with a private room.  Think outside of the box.

I know you didn't mention Philadelphia but there are a few historic homes in CC which do smaller weddings, Powel House, Morris House.
Bryn Mawr College has a venue.
  • I'm not sure of the cost, but definitely check out Vicker's Tavern in Exton. The food is really good and Amanda, the party planner there is amazing! I considered the venue but they were booked on the date I wanted :-(

  • <div>If you have minimum 100 guests (we all know guest lists tend to expand as the big day gets closer), I'd recommend our venue: Aldie Mansion in bucks co. A very cozy recreated Scottish mansion with a beuatiful ballroom. Not too big -- especially if you want somewhere big enough to dance the night away. The caterer, Jeffery A Miller, does great specialized menues that can be customized. </div><div>

  • Thanks everyone.  I've been checking around like crazy!  I went to Vickers but we need a place for a ceremony too and they can't really accomodate one.   That also eliminates many of the restaurants with private rooms. I liked the Kimberton Inn, if anyone is familiar with that.  I went to the General Warren Inn and the manager was so obnoxious and rude I can't believe anyone has their wedding there.  All he cared about was not bothering his other guests.  I am going to check out Faunbrook and I need to research Aldie Mansion so thanks for those suggestions!  It's so hard-we want to have a spring wedding and do it on a Saturday for out of town guests...but if you don't have 75+ people most places won't even look at you.  It's been very frustrating!
  • I officiated a wedding at the Fork Restaurant downtown that was about that size.
Also, the Wayne Art Center is gorgeous and does smaller gatherings. Write me if you'd like me to put you in touch with the couples I worked with at those venues.
