Why you no answer all the questions?

ETA: Why the two weddings also? You'll already be married after the first one. The second one is considered a PPD and not nice to guests.

Y u delete questions?  We must know how you like your potatoes......

  • I thought I had?

PPD? What is that? And since reenactments are events, they typically have side things besides the battle for people to see. This would be for us to act out what an 18th century wedding would be like. I don't see the problem, no one there would be under the impression it is our "real" wedding.

<div>Thanks for answering all the questions!  Can we have pics of the fur baby?</div><div>
</div><div>As far as the two wedding thingy - you are going to find that the women on these Boards hate it when girls get married and then pretend not to be so they can have a big fairy princess day in a poofy white dress.  So, our antanae go up whenever someone mentions two weddings.  With that background, tell us more about what you are thinking about doing?  Will the 18th century ceremony be right before the actual one?  Will there be a party afterwards?</div>

Why not just incorporate the 18th century into your mondern wedding? Also, you never mentioned that the 18th century one would be a reenactment, but its a 2nd wedding, so I guess it is a reenactment, just two completely different themes.... However, its not going to be taken lightly on TK. Just a warning.

  • Fur Baby!

Ahh...gotcha. I guess I should have explained. We had considered wearing our 18th century clothes and having one cermony like that, and have our reenactor friends also dress in their 18th century clothes. However, we thought that it would make our "regular" friends uncomfortable or feel obligated to wear/buy clothes they would never wear again in their lives. So, we have thought, and this is only a thought, that the following weekend to when we were going to have our "real" ceremony, there is an event that we were planning to attend. We figured we would do an 18th century ceremony at the event. No party or anything, no invites. We would be wearing the clothes we would be wearing at the event. It wouldn't be fancy or anything. I play a campfollower for the army, and my boyfriend is a soldier. Our 18th century lives are pretty crappy :)
  • gorgeous cat!  About your engagement date - is the date a special day for you two (other than it's now an engagement date)?

Welcome and congrats!  Interesting idea on the reinactment. If it's a concept near and dear to you both, there are plenty of ways to go about incorporating a big part of your lives while also having all those you love in attendence.  Good luck with putting your thoughts together and bringing it all into one big picture.

    S'mores. Just S'mores please.
  • Welcome! We are wedding day twins (though tentative on your part)! There are plenty of ways to incorporate your hobby into your wedding. I love reenactments although I like world history better than US. Good luck with the planning and welcome again.
