Capital City Sound - Chris Leas Comments and Reviews PLEASE!!!!!

Okay Ladies, I need some serious feedback!  Based on reading through this specific thread I have read a lot about Capital City Sound and Chris Leas. I did my research and have been communicating with Chris via email (super nice guy!) I want to sign my contract with him this week. However, I am totally going on a whim here and basing my decision on all of you who have either had Chris perform at your wedding and Capital City Sound. All the reviews I read were great about Chris Leas and just so I have a little encouragement or security I want to be sure this is the right decision. Initially, we wanted a specific band, Hoo Doo Soul for our December date. Yet, they are already booked! So we have decided on a DJ. My dilemma is I cannot meet Chris or anything until I actually fly home to Columbus ( I currently live in Portland, OR and will be married in Columbus) in early autumn. So anyone who has positive or negative reviews I am super eager to hear your thoughts! Thank you! Lia

We met with Chris and he was nice and all, but he told me what he thought we wanted to hear.  We asked if he had been to our location before and he said yes, but we were talking about the set up and couldn't recall exactly how it was set up.  We were talking to him about some of our other vendors and asked if he met our photographer, initally said no then out of the blue said he had met her.  The entire conversation seemed to be like this and it didn't make me feel confortable so we continued our search and went with Encore Entertainment.

We used Chris Leas for our May wedding an loved him.  I can't say that he's exactly a "young hip DJ", and perhaps it's a good idea to meet him to see if you guys click, but he's definitely professional, does what you want him to do, and is no-cheese which was exactly what we wanted.  :)  We loved him and he was very accommodating.  He played all the songs we asked for and none of the songs we didn't want, and everyone said they had a great night.  Another plus about his is that he's timely with his responses by phone or by email, so when you're a busy stressed out bride planning from OOT (I was too), it's definitely a great thing to have vendors that are there for you.

I was sorry to hear a-ingram's review of him, because we clicked with him well when we met with him and never got that uncomfortable feeling at all.  He and his BIL own the business together, and their prices were very reasonable.  They use Bose speakers and always have backups on hand should anything ever go wrong.  Our venue had used them before, and had good things to say as well, if that helps.  Best of luck!

We booked Chris for our upcoming wedding in July.  When I met with him, he was very nice, and he clicked great with my fiance (a huge music guy) and myself.  He has a huge selection of songs, and said he is willing to add to his collection if he doesn't have something that we want to have played at the wedding.  My reception venue (Pinnacle Golf Club) said he had been there many times and that he always does a really great job.  Chris also told us that he had been to the venue many times and loved the set-up there.

From all the reviews I have read on here, everyone has seemed to have a really great experience with Chris.  He is definitely no cheese which is something we were adament about.  I also really like how detailed his day of worksheet is with songs you want/don't want and songs for specific times in the wedding.  He also likes to get together a few weeks before the wedding to go over things to make sure everyone is on the same page which is comforting.

I hope this helps!  Chris is a realy nice guy, and his prices are great.  If you can't get to Columbus to meet with him for awhile, you might try to call him to ask any questions so see what he is like for yourself.
