Where are your guest staying?

My fiance and I didn't plan on more than 20 people coming to our destination wedding....we have 50 people that have RSVPed thus far and the list continues to grow week by week. I am so fortunate to have such amazing family and friends but now our plans are changing a bit. We had planned on a renting a private location sleeping 20 people and having the reception on the property, now we are looking for other options to seat more people. Also, looking for hotel accommodations that fit in everyones budget. Any suggestions? Where are your guests staying?

We got a group block at the Marriott in Wailea and had 18 rooms booked through that, but that's not really helpful for you since I recall your wedding being on Oahu, right?

Yes, Oahu! There are so many hotels along Waikiki Beach but some are more expensive than others. It's so hard to make that step booking a place and directing our guests that direction without seeing the places first. I'm not sure we will be able to make the trip there first before the wedding due to my job unfortunately. Thanks for the advice though! :)

We've stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach a couple of times. The location is great. I think the Outrigger Waikiki on the Reef has condo style units, if that's more the style of some of your guests.

The Outrigger Reef doesn't have condo units, as far as I know, but next door (about 10 feet) is the Outrigger Shore.  There are kitchenette units and about half are privately owned with some on VRBO and the other half are run by the Reef.  Have you tried Trip Advisor for hotel reviews??

We did a group rate through the Ilikai & the Aqua Palms (which is across the street...more of a boutique hotel). Rates at Aqua were $99/night & at Ilikai I think were $119 or so...don't know if that's helpful, but we enjoyed our stay & view of the ocean & lagoon, as did all of our guests. Majority stayed at Ilikai, while the rest were right across the street! It was fun to run into people in the lobby & greet guests as they arrived. Ilikai was MORE than accommodating with us. My hubby dealt w/ the group rates guy...had to call a bunch, but it paid off in the end.

Our host hotel is at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We got a decent rate and also the Doubletree Ala Moana right near the HHV is really reasonable priced. I think for next May the rates are about $103 right now.
