Need serious help

I have been wracking my brain trying to figure this out but i can't. We are doing our grand entrance with a piper(bag piper) so obviously the mc can't announce us as we enter the same as if we were coming in to a song. He will be playing 2 songs so it will probably be pretty awkward to stand at the table that long before sitting down. How should we go about getting everyone announced? I will have them say the new Mr & Mrs before the piper even starts but for everyone else i have no clue.

Re: Need serious help

  • Admittedly I've never been a bridesmaid, but is it really necessary to announce everyone?  Will your BMs/GMs/parents be offended if they're not announced into the reception?  I ask because, especially with an entrance like this, I don't think I would care terribly much if I was actually "announced" or not, but I can understand that some people might be.  I'd consider asking them, first; if nobody cares if they're announced, problem solved with little stress - if they do, then worry about options.

  • Do they have to be announced? Maybe the bagpiper could walk around the room and y'all could follow him around like a little parade? I honestly have no idea...
  • If you want everyone to be announced, they can enter the reception before you guys.   Aren't the B & G usually the last to enter the reception anyway?  That's how I've always seen it done.  That way the MC can do his thing announcing your BP and then he can say something like "Please stand for your hosts this evening, the new Mr. & Mrs ..." and then the bagpipes can start going and you guys can enter.
  • I never thoguht of not announcing, i have never seen it not done before, i guess that is an option too.

Julie the piper is piping everyone in, yes they will be before us, idk why i said the mc would be announcing us first, i am very tired & not thinking straight lol.

Kelsey, it would be like a little parade, he will lead us to our table

    Agreed.

  • Or why don't you have him play just one song?
  • As a BM, I personally hate being announced. It's weird to me, having all those people seated And you have to walk in and hope you don't fall on your a$$ is front of everyone.
