Show me petite brides!!

Please don't just post pictures of petite dresses.  I want to see petite brides (shorter then 5'4) in a variety of gowns.  Please post pics, I'm having so much difficulty finding photos online~

Re: Show me petite brides!!

  • I'm a petite bride!!!! 4'10".  I haven't bought my dress yet so I only have pictures from when I tried some on and they are therefor way too long on me.  So far my favorite has been trumpet (fit and flare) and a-line.

  • I'm 5'1" and wore 2" heels.  I wore Casablanca 1914. I found, while trying on gowns, that so many of them were just 'too much' for my size and, as my mother put it "the dress was wearing me".

  • i am five foot flat and heres me at my fitting, keep in mind my dress is  pinned to fit but I love my gown!

  • I am 5'2" and had a really difficult time trying to find a dress.  The samples were too big to really see how the dresses would look on me.  I must have tried on over 40 because nothing looked good on me.  I ended up going with a sweetheart, mermaid style dress.  It is very flattering and is definitely not wearing me.
  • I'm 5'2" and ~106lbs. My dress is this:

I got it in the petite length ie: 55" and a size 4 and it needed no alterations except around the bust to make it smaller. The "lines" on it aren't so dark in person but it does help to make me look a bit taller.

    This was my 'dream dress':

Also fit nicely and looked good but I didn't like how big the flare was in person.

So yeah! Both are Mori Lee bridal 2010 collection.
  • I am 5'2'' and you can see a pic of my gown in my siggy as well as my married bio. I wore about 3 inch heels with it.

My best advice would be to go for something more a-line and slim fitting. The big ballgowns and those with lots of ruching will just swallow you up. I tried one on and that was it. It overwhelmed my small frame whereas something more fitted showed it off.
  • I'm a little over 5' and wore about 2-2.5" wedges.

Ditto MissySue, slimmer dresses tend to work best for me.  I didn't try on any ball gowns.  Less ornate gowns also seemed to work better, although that's my style in general.  I ended up with a trumpet with an all-over lace pattern (versus laces that have some variation in the pattern).  PIB.
  • I am 5'2". My dress came in huge still so I did not take any pics when I tried it on but this is the size 6 they had in store (my dress is a 0). I love it!

We just stopped preventing January 2013! I use a tablet so please forgive my auto correct! :)
  • I'm 5.2 and broke all the rules when I got a ball gown :)  Not a huge one, but big enough.  It's actually bigger in this picture than it will be the day of.
