Cake on a Budget

Any recommendations for cake in Lancaster that is reasonably priced? I've been seeing some places that charge 5ish per person, which is more than we want to spend. We'd prefer to stay around 3ish per person or less (around $300 or less total).

Have you considered a cupcake cake at all? We too were looking at prices and found it difficult to find anything that was reasonable. (I am in the Lancaster/York area as well). I found the idea of a cupcake cake online, and it still gives you a small cake at the top to cut for the cake cutting at your reception and is at the price range you are looking for. If you are interested, The Flour Child in Columbia does them as well as The Couture Cakery in Camp Hill (they will deliever to Lancaster). Hope this helps!

Did you check with Rosie's Creative Cakes in Manheim?

and not sure what price ranges that Bella Manse in Millersville has.

another option might be Sweet Encounters (Jan Risser) in Reamstown.

Linda's Cakery is another one- but not sure what her prices are either.

If you want to go for a grocery store bakery- Oregon Dairy does a good job!

My good friends who just got married in New Cumberland got their cake at Giant.  It tasted just as good as "real" bakery cakes.  As a guest, I had no idea!  I'm considering getting my cake from there, too... except you have to go pick it up and deliver it to your site yourself.

We're going with Rosie's Creative Cakes in Manheim but its part of a package so I don;t know exaclty how much the cake is but on her site pricing doesn't seem to bad.

Redners cake is pretty good too! I would just look into grocery stores or maybe even Walmart.

I have heard good things about Oregon Dairy.  We checked out Rosie's, Bella Manse, Linda's, and Creative Cakes by Jessica Leaman.  We went with Jessica and she did a nice job.  Rosie's and Linda's were out of our price range.

I would totally recommend Oregon Dairy, they're the ones we're hiring, and they work within your budget if you tell them exactly what you want.

Our cake is included in our package with our reception venue. However, they contract out for the cake and we recently sat down with the woman who is doing our cake and she charges $2/slice. Her name is Carol Carson and can be reached at 717-944-2325. She does them out of her home so that may be why she is able to offer a cheaper rate.

khulsey13 can you tell me where your baker is located?  It looks like a Middltown area number but not sure.  I am looking for a baker for our wedding cupcakes and tower topper cake.  Thanks!
