Is this considered rude?

I have a friend who got engaged in January 2011 and they are getting married in October 2012. Me and my sister are both in her wedding. My sister just got engaged, April 2011 and wants to get married April 2012. Is it rude to get married before our friend who was engaged first?

It's not rude at all. I'm having a long engagement with my FI (June 2012), but one of my best friends got engaged after us (on valentines day) and is getting married this July. We're both in her wedding and I have no problem with her getting married before us. She always said she would put her wedding together in six months or less once she got engaged so I wasn't suprised at all!

Your sister should just get married when she wants to.

We're coming to the end of our three year engagement, and if I had gotten mad at every friend/family member who got engaged and married during the period of my engagement, well, I'd be in a psych ward.

Your sister should get married on whatever date works for her and her FI, her budget, and her guest list.

The idea that she should wait until after someone else gets married is ridiculous.

Not at all, sounds like your friend is waiting quite awhile to get married and cann't expect friends to wait as long as she is. it's not like your sister is getting married the same weekend. My Fiance's cousin got engaged a month after us and is getting married 2 months before us. It doesn't bother me at all.
