NWR: First Communion Gifts

It has been years and years since anyone close to me has had a First Communion. Now, FI and I have a few to attend over the next couple of weeks. I'll probably just give cash, but have no idea what the "going rate" is. This is for 2 cousins and  FI's nephew. What do you ladies normally give?

Thanks for the help!

Re: NWR: First Communion Gifts

  • If it were me I would do a $50 savings bond which would only cost $25 per child. If you need it asap, you can still order one at the bank and they will give you a little insert that you can fill out to let the parents know that a savings bond will be coming to them in the mail.

I like savings bonds better for children this young, since they don't "need" cash and it will be in their name, so only they can cash it, later on in life.

  • I'd probably do cash and little more than a Baptism. I think we gave my nephew $50 a few weeks ago for his Baptism, so maybe $75? I'd do no more than that.
