Invitations Help!

Hi ladies, I'm looking for your help in finding someone to do my invitations. I know pretty much exactly what I want them to look like and I've found websites that sell invitations that are inexpensive but I'm totally OCD and I don't think I could order something online without seeing it first! I'd love to go into a shop and look through physical invites before I make my choice. If anyone else went to an actual shop for their invites, please tell me where! I'd prefer close to Newport but I don't mind traveling a little! Thanks so much :-)

Re: Invitations Help!

  • We are working with Pam at new England invitations in east Greenwich. She has the invites and also does wedding planning through her other company PDR events. She is a fantastic. She is right on main street in EG. If that doesn't work, we saw some great samples at papyrus in garden city while we were shopping. Looks like they would do a great job too. GL
  • I didn't go to an actual "shop" but I met with Sofia from Design by Sofia and she brought many samples of her work.  Everything is customized and she does an amazing job.  She can be a little difficult to get in touch with but she is very reasonably priced and I was thrilled with all my stationery products.

  • I actually had someone design my save the dates on etsy and had them printed at Crosstown Press in Crantson. However, they have a ton of books and samples that you can look through there- and they love custom design work.

I can't say the printing was all that inexpensive but I went in there no less than 10 times perfecting the piece and they did rounds upon rounds of proofs for me, at no charge. They totally worked their butts off.

Also they do lots of other "add ons" for weddings like seating charts and napkins etc.

I would also check out New England Invites as a PP mentioned. I found them to be really helpful.

there is also One Bella designs, which is in smithfield and RSVP in cumberland- not sure where you are coming from.

I picked out my invites at Crosstown Press. They are pretty affordable and the staff is so nice.

  • Newport, you say?? I live in Newport and we worked with Papers. It's owned and run by Judy who's a total sweetheart and really, really good at helping you figure out tricky wording or what have you. She's right on Bellevue in the same row of shops as the Tennis Hall of Fame. Prices were average for formal invitations, but she has fun ones, too. She has tons of binders filled with invitations and all the cards that can go with it. I totally recommend her! The real clincher that my Mom liked about her was that if you want, she calls guests who haven't RSVP'd by the date for you! It saves you that awkward conversation.
    Good luck!

  • I am getting my invitations from Wishes Under Wrap in Johnston, RI, but you can order online and save 20%.  They have all the invitations in store though, so you can look at them there and then order online (which is what I did).  They also do seating scrolls and other stuff.  Since I am getting my wedding invitations from there, I had my mom by the bridal shower invitations there and she offered a discount.

    Hi!
We used Jen for Sunderland's Studio. She can tailor the invitation to exactly what you want. Mine are actually on her website as one of her examples :-). She is very easy and fun to work with!
