dress

Hi!  I was wondering if someone can tell me the process I should take for my dress.

I went yesterday for my first appointment and fell in love with a dress.  It happened to be a discountinued one so ended up getting an amazing deal and bought the sample.  I wanted a new one but I couldn't pass it up.  Seemed so perfect!

So...I need to clean it and when the date gets closer have it altered.  I really want it inspected for missing beads and such.  Any advice on the steps I should take.  Maybe one of you girls did the same?  I have no idea where to get it cleaned by someone I can trust and does Becky do repairs on dresses if it needs to be?

Thanks!

    Congrats on finding your dress!

I know for sure Becky will be able to fix anything that needs to be fixed and would go over it extremely well looking at the beading, etc.

I can't help on the cleaning, but I would think Becky might have some trustworthy recommendations.

I would definitely think Becky can help with inspecting and repairing. I am not sure on cleaning. I thought about going to Bibbentuckers but no personal experience with them..

I think Mariah gave me a rec for Dallas One cleaners on Garland Road.  That is where I plan to take mine.  If I ever get around to it.

Stephie is right.  Dallas 1 Cleaners on Garland Road in between the arboretum and Buckner road (right by Casa Linda Plaza).  I took my dress to get cleaned and it looked like new!

And Becky can most definitely fix your dress.  :)

I got a sample size dress altered by Becky (down 2 sizes) and it looks awesome!  Possibly even better than the original (we changed minor things about the dress).  I would consult Becky about how to clean your dress.  I had thought about taking it to the cleaners, but Becky said that since my dress is silk organza, most dry cleaning chemicals would stain/yellow the dress.  She did some spot cleaning while altering, and I had to have 8 inches of fabric removed from the bottom of the dress anyway (that's mostly where it was dirty), so it workd out well!

She can definitely fix loose beading issues.

I will def. call Becky.  Thanks!  Good idea on asking her first.  I would just die if I sent it somewhere and they ruined it.  It really doesn't look like it needs to be cleaned so maybe I get her advice first on that.  Thanks!!!

Can someone give me the 411 on Becky?  I had to buy a bigger dress for my gigantic boobs and will have to do some altering to get it to fit properly.

    TIA!
