A PM from another Knottie made me curious and I figured this would be useful for others, too. What % of invited guests ultimately attended?

We invited 31 couples, 62 people. We had 40 in attendance (but not 20 couples as a few people elected to come alone, so I think it was like 24 of the 31 couples showed up). We had zero no shows.

ETA - I have no idea what I was thinking with 'other'...mathematically impossible to have another answer methinks. Means day 1 back at work has been too long...

I can't answer this one yet, but I am curious as to how many people originally said they would come but never ended up getting ticket to fly out. So far everyone is saying they're coming, but no one has tickets yet, so I'm wondering how many will end up changing their minds. I'm torn between being excited to everyone to make it, and being nervous about having a huge wedding cos everyone does!!

This is a good question, Tanq!!

...kind of difficult for us to answer though. We sent out 40 invitations...never counted how many people that would amount to (mixture of singles, couples, and families). We had 25 guests attend in the end.

Most of our invitations were to people we knew wouldn't attend (i.e. out of obligation/significance for my parents, but zero chance of them coming). Out of the invited people we EXPECTED to consider attending, about 80% came.

Difficult to assign a percentage, because 6 people said they would come, but didn't. One person booked her ticket, but broke her ankle two weeks before the wedding and had to cancel. Then we had 2 surprise guests show up (who weren't invited, but are dear childhood friends of mine - greatest surprise....ever!!). And yes, one uninvited guest (!!), which was kinda weird...

I'm in the can't really answer this question either category as we invited everyone to our destination wedding that we would have invited to our at home wedding...approx. 85 invitations will be sent out next week...i am soo late...mix of couples and singles and 22 people i believe are confirmed...either purchased plane tix, put a deposit down on accommodations or both. I do not expect more than 30 guests. We invited everyone knowing that the majority of them would not go. J. :-)

We had 31/88, which is about a 35% sucess rate. At the very beginning, we had a lot more yeses (naturally) and it was looking like it would be closer to 50-60 people coming. Thankfully, they didn't! Thirty was about the number we wanted.

I'm not going to answer the poll because I feel like our situation will skew it... if you don't think so then I will answer it.

Our parents are our only guests, so them not coming wasn't really an option. So we paid the way for the one who couldn't afford it, and the rest of them already bought their tickets. So, 100%. But they also didn't get invites because, well, they're our parents.

We're having an AHR as well, but invites haven't gone out for that yet, and since it's local the amount of RSVPs would be higher than those of a DW.

We're 3 weeks out from flying to Hawaii (yay! can you tell I'm a tad excited? hehe) and we just had (another) guest back out of going!

We're really annoyed, not that he's not going but that he decided to wait so long to tell us and others who wanted to go now can't as there isn't enough time for them to organise time off work, save up etc (the guy who backed out told us he's been thinking for months he may not be able to afford to go - hmm).

This is now the second person who rsvp'd they were going and backed out (and we only invited 26 guests), once you have your final rsvp list, still expect some people to back out (which sucks) so make sure your catering packages etc are flexible to reduce numbers easily.

We had about 70% attend. We invited 182 and had 125 on the day of. There were supposed to be four more people there but they were elderly and couldn't make it. However someone else decided to bring two kids, so whatever!

I'm not sure if results are typical for this board since most of our guest list were locals. I think we invited 50 OOTers and had 40 come
