DC Wedding under 15,000

Anyone have ideas about where to get married in or around DC that won't cost 150 pp?! I'd be willing to get married offseason or on a Sunday to save some cash. Our guest list is about 150 and an outdoor area is a must. Ugh! I feel lost! Thanks for the help!!

  • Seconding the Fairfax historic buildings, though I think most of them are probably too small for you.  You can book most of the DC parks for the cost of a $50 permit for a ceremony, but then you could go someplace cheaper for a reception to save money.  A lot of the colleges in the area have event spaces that are pretty boring on their own but can be dressed up.  Beyond that, you just have to go out farther away from the city.  Oh, and take a look at the George Mason Inn in Fairfax- it's just your standard hotel, but it's pretty inexpensive and it has a little park area out to the side of the building that I think you can use for ceremonies.  And I've heard their food is pretty good, though I haven't tried it personally.
  • We are having ours at the Phoenix Park Hotel in a couple of weeks. Rates were much more reasonable than most places in DC, and though a hotel, it is an independent boutique space. It's not exceedingly glamorous but super charming. Good luck!
  • Some of the hotels in the area, believe it or not, are under $150pp. My guest list is about half what yours is, but I'm doing plated dinner at the Westin Alexandria for about $113/pp, and that was at the upper end of the places I looked at, which included other hotels, Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, and another place in I think Ijamsville (maybe?) whose name escapes me at the moment.

Do a buffet or lunch or just heavy hors d'oeuvres and you'll easily be able to find someplace! Good luck!
  • I am having my wedding at Oxon Hill Manor and the grounds are gorgeous. It cost me $4400 for 8 hours on a Saturday night. Check it out.

Fairfax Historical Buildings are a great choice and you're photog will LOVE all the options.

  • I've found plenty of places that are under $150 per person but none I can think of would be under $15k for 150 ppl, after taxes and fees.  Have you looked at1757 golf club in Northern VA or St. Francis Hall or the Josephine Butler Parks cener in DC?  All will be under $150 per person.
