XP - Groom's Deceased Mother in Program

My Fiance's Mother passed away when he was a teenager and his father is remarried for almost 20 years now.  We want to mention his Mother's name in the program under the "parents of the Groom section" but do not want to slight his step mother.  We are already doing a "in memory section" but want to acknowledge her as his mother.  So far the best thing we have found is

PARENTS OF THE GROOM
John and Jane Doe

IN SPIRIT

Susan Doe

We don't like the other way we have seen which is

Parents of the Groom

John and Jane Doe and the Late Susan Doe

But we don't love the way listed above.  Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Re: XP - Groom's Deceased Mother in Program

  • Thank you - but as I mentioned, we already do have a in memory of section... We had wanted to list her as his mother in the program, and after some research we did find that this seems to be quite common and many do list the deceased parent's name in the program.  We were hoping to have a nice way to do that in addition to the in memory of section.

Has anyone done this or seen this in someone else's programs?
  • I agree, the way you have it is a little confusing.  What about:

    JOHN AND JANE DOE
Father and Stepmother of the Groom

    SUSAN DOE, 1960-1995
    Mother of the Groom

    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
  • I would just put it in the in loving memoryiam section like PP said and add 1960-1995 if you want.
