GM! How was your long weekend?

At least it's a 4 day week right?

FI was in town, so I had a great weekend.  Saturday, we took commuter rail/ biked up to a local beach, hung out all day, biked/took. the rail back, and then grilled on a friend's porch.  Sunday we just relaxed and played trivia with friends.  Monday FI left but I watched -Boston's fireworks from a friend's roofdeck really close by - it was an amazing view!

How was your weekend?  Anyone else wishing they were still drinking beer on a porch/rooftop right now?

***MD I started a GM post too - can you delete? here is what mine said***

We had a great weekend!  Though – things are starting to get stressful and emotions are running high with 4 days out!

Friday – DF and I both got off work early (woohoo!) So we did a little shopping for honeymoon stuff and DF got his last haircut before the wedding!
Saturday – FFIL was in town, so I did somethings around the house and finished up some WR stuff and then we just had a little cook out and relaxed!
Sunday – we did some running around and then went to my parents for dinner. We hung out at the neighbors house on their patio that night .
4th – DF played golf, and I went to my parents, then we went to DF’s aunts house for a cook out. We literally were asleep by 9pm so no fireworks for us!

Only working two days this week, today and tomorrow and I’m hoping both days go quickly! Still have several “little” things that I need to mark off my list!

GM Ladies! I had a pretty good weekend despite being on call - I didn't have to go into the hospital at all so that's a big plus. Friday I went to Old Navy and bought  about 100 pairs of grey and pink flip flops for the reception - luckily the sales girl was really helpful and not annoyed. Fri night FI and I went for wine and appetizers at our neighbors - turned out to be a 5 hour visit - so much fun. Saturday FI and I bought out the nursery at Home Depot and re-landscaped and planted flowers in our yard - tons of work but definitely fun as well.

db - I'll probably be checking the weather for you all week too, lol. I hope your work load is light this week!

md - Thank goodness for a 4 day week!

Good morning!  This weekend was so long and nice.  And pretty productive!

    WR:
     1. I had my first dress fitting.  I got a sample sale dress, so my dress needs to be steamed before they can even do any alterations, but even a little bit of pining they did made it look so much nicer!
    2. FMIL got her dress.  Its a prom dress, but she is happy and loves it and got her princess dress that she was looking for.
    3. FI and I went to Ikea and got frames for table numbers and looked at paper lanterns.

    NWR:
    1. FI and I have been sharing a laptop for the past year, and we FINALLY bought a new one, so now we have two computers!
    2. I got a new phone.  Its my first smart phone.  I feel so old, cause I can't figure all of it out.

We also had a cookout on Sunday and went to a cookout on Mt. Washington yesterday, so fun summer activities all around.

DP - Yay for the four day forecast!  And your picture is adorable!
MD - I bet it was so nice having FI around.  Your weekend sounds lovely.
Lindsay - I'm so jealous that you did landscaping.  Our yard needs some serious landscaping and i don't know where to start.  Hopefully that will be next summer's project

    Hi Everyone!

Super busy this week but I'll be popping in and out hopefully.

We went to Louisville this weekend for my FI's cousin's wedding. It was a very pretty wedding, however, the ceremony was outside, and it was hot! I mean oppressive heat and humidity lol. I almost forget sometimes how much hotter it is there.

We also managed to get our engagement pics back (yeay!). I posted them a few days back if you want to see them.

Oh, and we found our wedding rings! My friend works at a jewelry store and helped us pick them out when we are down there. Since we are paying for everything, we had decided a while ago to just get simple cheaper rings to wear for the first year (or until we recoup our losses after the wedding). I was fine with this because it's going to take me a long time to find something I have in mind. So we picked out a simple titanium band for him and a small white gold band with a few small diamonds on it for me. My engagement ring is platinum, so I am hoping that it doesn't look funny next to the white gold band, but I don't think anyone will notice. We just didn't feel like paying literally triple the price right now for platinum.

We did pick out bands we might get eventually. The FI's band will be platinum as well, but is still very simple and sleek (he didn't want anything with a lot of design). Mine will be a ring wrap, but I don't know if the one I picked out yesterday will be the exact one I get. When we do get them we may trade in the bands that we just got so that way they are applied to the price of the new band. I don't know if I will be able to give my band up though :-) I might just wear it on my right hand eventually.

Lindsay- I also saw your pics on facebook. Awesome yard! And the cutest puppy ever :-)

DP- So excited for you! And very jealous of going to St. Lucia!

Md- Sounds like you had a great weekend! I didn't know there was a true beach so close to Boston. Obviously it's a harbour town, I just didn't know there was a swimming beach.

Mrads- I need a new laptop so bad! We can use our work laptops though so I can't really justify one yet :-(

Sounds like everyone had fun weekends!  Mine, BUSY!  It all started Wednesday when we drove home to Pittsburgh.

Thursday - got my hair cut, ran to the store, got ready, then had our engagement pics!  We went to the Mexican War Streets, and to a bunch of areas on the North Shore.  They should be posted soon.. when they are, you girls will be one of the first to know!  My best friend (and bridesmaid) shot us, and did it as her gift to us.. she did a great job and we can't wait to see the results!

Friday - packed a few things in my dad's work van for our new apartment.  The couches were HUGE so getting them out of the house was an adventure.  After we finished, FI and I drove back to the DC area to finish up the rest of our packing.

Saturday - moving day!  We moved to Chevy Chase, MD.. which is RIGHT next to the city.  It's a great area, great apartment, and we're really glad we chose to do this.  Our good friends helped us move in the morning, then my folks came later in the day with the couches and everything and helped with getting us settled in.  Later that night, we went out to eat.. but called it a night early because we were exhausted!

Sunday - my parents, FI and I went to Ikea to pick up some miscellaneous items for our new place, went out to eat for lunch where we watched the Buccos game (woo hoo!).. came back and relaxed, then went to Friendship Heights (DC) for dinner.

Monday - my parents left in the morning, FI and I did some more unpacking and straightening up, went to the grocery store, etc..  at night, we went to our friend's rooftop deck to watch the DC fireworks.. a great show!

Tuesday - I took the day off work.  Thank goodness!  The cable man came to install cable/internet, and once he left (3 hours later), I enjoyed the day alone, relaxing, unpacking and cleaning.  Once FI got home from work, we went up on our deck and layed out for a bit :)

    Now, back to the grind.
