  I probably won't really be much help...We didn't really do lots of music and we didn't have any dancing at our reception so we used music that we would have played for F/D & M/S for our slideshow. F/D was "My Little Girl" and M/S was "Anything Like Me"  I walked to "Cannon in D" and our WP walked in to "Per La Gloria D'Adorarvi" which is one of my favorite Italian songs from when I sang Opera.  Our songs were personal to us (Cannon in D because H and I both really love classical music, and the Italian, because I love Love LOVE singing in Italian).  We also had "Over the Rainbow" played in our slideshow because it's my all time favorite song ever.
  
  I think you're totally on the right track with your music.  It should be music that speaks to you as people, and as a couple.  I would have shot myself in the foot before I walked down the aisle to "Here comes the bride".. It just wasn't for me, just like I don't see that song for you CAB... Maybe you should tell your sister that those songs are important to you and your FI...?

  I'd poke my eyes out before I march down to Here comes the bride... not that there is anything wrong with that... it's just so not me. I think I am going to stick with this regardless. My sister thinks it's very cathedral/big sounding, which is kind of off. But I see it more like epic cool. I hope that people get what songs are playing! I am a huggeeee rock lover, and a lot of people going are, too. So, hopefully we pull this off. The first dance and F/D dances are a lot more tame due to the fact that they're supposed to be heartfelt and all that crap. I will say that Miranda's song always made me weepy. It's very much like FI and I, even down to the whole me leaving town, not settling down thing ( When I met FI, I was about to take a job in Vegas, but my gut told me to turn it down.)

  Not gonna lie, I had to go dig out one of our programs to see for sure what our exit song was.

  
  

  So yeah, add your ceremony music to the list of things you'll likely forget more than a year later.  Either that or I'm just a horrible wife!

  Yeah I totally agree with Sami to pick music that is important to your or that you like.  Here Comes the Bride wasn't for me either.  I at least remembered that I walked in to "Grow Old With Me" by John Lennon.  

  
  

  My f/d dance song was "the way you look tonight", specfiically the version from Father of the Bride.  

  
  

  H's mom loves Phil Collins, so he picked "you'll be in my heart" which was actually the Tarzan theme song.

  I personally think your original list was perfectly fine.  It doesn't seem funeral-ish to me at all.  I would keep it.    The new list is ok, but I like the first one better.  I would go with what ever makes you happy.  It's not your sister's wedding.

  We marched out to an Celtic Celebration.  I totally forgot what we can into.  We just had a harp and it was beautiful.  That is really the only music we had.  Of course the reception was a totally different story.  Older people dancing to Black Eyed Peas was one of the best things I have ever seen!

  Good point. The songs ARE more meaningful to us... not that the 2nd batch wasn't, but the first batch totally speaks to us both. The second batch is really all about me lol!

  Do what you want!  People won't notice or care.  And if they do, they're clearly not looking at you in your dress.  This is one place where seriously it's the bride & groom's perogative. 
  
  We're having oldies play before the ceremony to keep FI calm - Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and Stevie Wonder.  Once the parents are walking down, I'm not sure - we may or may not have a violin & harp (depending on which guests can come, and if they volunteer to play, as they quite possibly will).  So if we do, something that they can play.  Upbeat, fun, but probably a modern song without the lyrics, like Vitamin String Quartet does.
  
  And then for me, I got kinda annoyed when (apparently, I haven't seen the movie) the Twilight series used the song I want to use for Bella's wedding.  I am NOT ripping off Twilight, I swear, but I picked the song first so I'm going to use it anyway!

  I'm late on this, but you should school your sister a little bit on the Bridal Chorus/Wedding March. It's Wagner. It's from the opera Lohengrin, and it's pretty depressing. Its usual placement at the beginning of a wedding ceremony is not entirely in accordance with its placement in the opera. In the opera, the chorus is sung after the ceremony by the women of the wedding party, as they accompany the heroine Elsa to the bridal chamber. In addition, the marriage between Elsa and Lohengrin is an almost immediate failure.
  
  Wagner was also a notorious anti-Semite, and while I've seen many of his operas, and they are amazing, his music is rarely used by both Jews and Catholics. I know that that's not music I would want in my wedding.
  
  All of that being said, this is your wedding, and it's not about the "cathedral sound" it's about what it means to you. I wish we could use some music that we can't because of the Church, but that's a sacrifice I make for something bigger, there's no reason you have to change yours.
