best resorts and places in Riviera Maya?

I'm looking into going here for my honeymoon. I would like to know of beautiful resorts with amazing views. What are some recommended places to visit while being there?? Thanx in advance :

Re: best resorts and places in Riviera Maya?

  • have you checked tripadvisor.com and priced them out? there are hundreds.....and tons of things to do....

  • I am going a week from today for my HM so I can let you know then:-)
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • My HM is in 18 days and we are going to stay @ The Royal Playa Del Carmen.  We have several  friends that have stayed here and we have heard nothing but great things!

  • I ended up using AllInclusiveOutlet.com to price and compare resorts. It has a nice feature where it tells you what is included and how many restaurants/bars etc. After I combed through all of those in my price point and picked the best ones I did final steps of my research on Trip Advisor and went to see a local Travel Agent. They were able to match the price on the website and were able to include a few other things for free (Private Transfer, upgraded room, Champagne/Honeymoon package even though it wasn't our honeymoon!).

We ended up picking RIU Palace Riviera Maya. It was around $1200 a person for a week stay and that included Airfare and all the extras. It was not an Adults Only but I think I saw three kids the entire time we were there (School was in session). Prices will vary greatly depending on which resort you go to and when you go.

    What is your budget?

  • Secrets Maroma Beach.....can't say enough great things about that place :)

  • We are staying at Paradisus La Perla in October for our 1 yr.  It's a fairly new AI with some great reviews on Tripadvisor.
  • Secrets Maroma Beach (I have a review and few pics in my Ms. Bio)
Iberostar Grand Paraiso (this is the only hotel on the Iberostar resort I'd recommend; it's top tier compared to other hotels on resort that cost less).

Secrets on the Vine Cancun< this is just opening now; but based on our SMB experience, I think it will be fabulous
  • I second The Valentin Imperial Maya. We went there on our HM and had an amazing time! The place is beautiful, and there were several restuarants that were amazing. There was always stuff to do. I would definatley return.
  • Dreams Riviera Maya. It's a newer, smaller hotel without a lot if kids. But it's pricey. H and I are going back this December and staying at Azul Fives, which is running great promotions now to increase traffic (they are recently renovated). El Dorado is their sister, adult-only resort, but unfortunately it was out of our budget

  • The Aventura Spa Palace, hands down. It is so increidble, I never wanted to leave!
    Praying for a miracle!
  • We're staying at El Dorado Royale per our travel agent's advice. She said that the food was great! The resort is large with lots to do! If you stay on the Casitas side you could have a suite as a room, but its more expensive. You will have beach butler service on this side.
  • Hi! Have you gone to the El Dorado Royale yet?  On TripAdvisor, some people complained about large man made sand bags, and that the place was a little TOO big, but it looks beautiful in the pictures. I'd really like to book our honeymoon there. If you have been there already, what did you think of it?

For romantic couples it is every important that honeymoon place must be attractive and lovable so I think Texas is the best place for honeymoon couples where they can get the benefits of their vacations.
