Frustration about Venues! vent

Hey girls!

We had a reception venue, long story, we need another one and I have 2 months until my wedding!
Now I really only have weekends to look. I think it is rediculous that many venues can only be reached Monday through Friday 9 to 5pm. I mean doesnt almost anybody work those hours. How are you supposed to work and do all this to? It is just frustrating and I wish, even if like the bank it was Sat 9 to 12, there was some weekend availability. I know there are weddings on Saturdays, but maybe just someone who could answer questions in the morning. It makes it really hard to do all this!

Sorry, just needed to say how I was feeling! lol

try calling on your lunch break to places. Also check hotels that cater to buisness travelers during the week they usually are available on weekends such as places as Lake Mary Marriot etc.

What part of town are you looking for? Kind of venue, how many people? It might help us with suggestions.

Thanks girls! I try calling at lunch and after 1 or 2 places, its time to go back! lol

I am looking for either a garden setting or a courtyard kind of place. My theme is Italian Vineyard and I am making the table numbers, cork placeholders, and all that good stuff.

We are having 75 people and budgeted $30 pp for a brunch.

I am thinking Mission Inn and Providence Golf Club right now,
any suggestions would be awesome!!! :)

Weren't you looking at Bice in the Portofino Bay?  What happened with that?  Also, I know the Portofino Bay does really small weddings in a small but nice room to the side of the Bar American (not enough room to dance but enough to eat).  I have no idea what the price is though.

My father is the Banquet Director for the Westin in Lake Mary.  It's a brand new hotel (been open for less than 6 months) and they're still trying to fill up their schedules with events.  There is a really good shot that they're available!  I've personally never seen it (I live in Maryland) but it is a Westin and I have seen pictures and it's really nice!  I have no idea what your budget is but it might be worth seeing!

    Portofino is $$$

I will look into the Westin!

    Thanks!

What was your original venue that fell through?  Was it Bice?  Did you look into Mama Della's also at the Portofino?

I was going to suggest the Westin in Lake Mary as well.  We have our hotel room block there and are going to have a brunch there the morning after the wedding.  They have been wonderful to work with!

Depending on what part of town the Club at Victoria Gardens in DeLand does courtyard weddings with an inside reception. I work for the community and its a really nice place.

Have you looked at Lakeridge Winery?  They are open weekends and are a working winery/vineyard.
