Fashion Opinions

The colors for my wedding are a deep rose red, gray/silver and hints of white. My bridesmaids dresses are a charcoal gray color. I am trying to stay away from black as much as I can because black and red together look a little "casino-y" to me.

I am looking for opinions on what the groomsmen should wear. My fiance wants to wear a gray tux which I am completely fine with. Should I do the groomsmen in gray as well, or with the bridesmaids will that be TOO much gray?? I was thinking with the dresses being a dark gray, I could get away with doing a lighter colored gray tux. What do you guys think?? I trust everyone's opinions on here!

J - My bridesmaids are wearing a dark gray dress as well and although we haven't shopped for tuxes yet, I think we are planning on doing either a lighter gray tux or at least pinstripe dark gray. I like the ones in the pic below. HTH.

I think as long as they gray's are not the exact same shade, you'll be fine. A lighter gray tux would look nice. That way, you'll achieve a deliberately monochromatic look, not a flat look. Besides, you'll have the groomsmen's ties and the bridesmaids' flowers to incorporate more color.

Thanks girls! Lindsay, I was having trouble envisioning the gray dresses and tuxes together, but that picture really helped. Thanks so much!

I think the bridesmaids' dresses are dark enough that it shouldnt be hard at all to find a tux a few shades lighter. Thanks again! My mind is at ease. :-)

I don't know of either of you have actually looked for gray tuxes, but they were really difficult to find. We are doing gray suits instead. The cost is similar and they come out of it with a new suit.

If you can't find gray tux's or suits, you can do black tux's with charcoal vests/ties so you don't have red on black to avoid the look you don't want.  I had pewter bm dresses and thought they looked really good next to the black tux w/gray accents. Another thought is a black tux w/a thin pin stripe to lighten the black. I liked this but I left it up to DH and he wanted classic black.  Lindsay's pic looks great though!

Ditto this.  Fi and his guys are buying suits because we could only find 1-2 types of gray tuxes for rental (and we didn't like them)

Suits are fine - I think the ones I like in the pic I posted look like suits.
