Earthquake

So I'm getting married Saturday and I wake up this morning to start my VERY busy day. I turn on the news and check all the messages on my phone like my normal routine. I hear the news reporting an earthquake that happened in the middle of the night a 4.3 earthquake. Honestly don't sound bad except I live in Louisiana and we don't get those. It wasn't in my town but maybe 30 minutes from us. Also found out they had another one same town last week that was 3.5. A few pictures on our wall were a little moved so I know we felt it here which bothers me a little. Really hope they don't have another one soon.

Re: Earthquake

  • Earthquakes are fun...I'm about 2.5 hours north of where that DC earthquake was last summer...and we definitely felt that. Even if you do have more, the east coast really isn't prone to earthquake damage like the west coast is. Good luck with your day!

  • I know earthquakes can be dangerous, but feeling one is on my bucket list.  I'll travel to LA indefinitely until I feel one to check that one off my bucket list

  • We had one last year in NY of all places. Definately a weird experience. Ours was only a 3 point something as well.
  • Wow, that sure is out of place. If it does happen again, your guests will always remember that your wedding ROCKED! Even the earth couldn't resist a little shimmy :)

  • I've lived on the west coast my entire life and honestly, I cant even count the number of earthquakes I have felt, most last about a second and are done and you feel it but nothing happens, nothing falls, nothing to worry about. I've been in only one that was more serious, and by that I mean things fell out of the closet etc, still I tihnk there was only one fatality and it was a guy who was really old and it caused him extreme anxiety or something and his heart stopped, so it wasnt really due to the earthquake. They keep promising a HUGE one here, but its yet to happen....for now..the little ones are kind of fun and exciting :).
