Rehearsal dinner suggestions

Does anyone have any suggestions for rehearsal dinner venues in uptown? Thanks

Re: Rehearsal dinner suggestions

  • What kind of rehearsal are you looking for?  Fancy or casual?  Sit down or hor d'houevres? Hoe many people?  Do you have something special that you want/need to have?

We literally looked everywhere to try and find something casual with a good wine list and great food, but that didn't cost an arm and a leg.  We ended up with the Irish House and I am really excited about it.

Once you give some more information, I can try to give you some "targeted" responses. :)
  • We want to go somewhere with good food and wine but not too frou frou. Sit down for about 20 people. It would be nice to have a separate room/area instead of being in the main dining room. Thanks

<div>I would definitely check out the Irish House.  They're on St. Charles in the lower garden district and have worked with us completely.</div><div>
</div><div>You should also try Tujagues, Le Petit Grocery, and Commander's Palace.</div><div>
</div><div>Ralphs on the Park in Mid City has great upstairs areas.</div><div>
</div><div>You may also want to consider something like the the zoo.  I know someone who is having their rehearsal at tha cajun exhibit there -- cool! <a href="http://www.auduboninstitute.org/rehearsal-dinner-new-orleans" rel="nofollow">http://www.auduboninstitute.org/rehearsal-dinner-new-orleans</a></div>
  • We are doing ours at Antoines, they have private rooms for about 40 people but the can handle any size.
  • Vincent's uptown can also handle 20 people in their private room.  The food there is fabulous and it was reasonably priced compared to other places.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
