Hi everyone. I don't post a lot on here..but I will say that I used this board frequently for ideas and suggestions while planning. I thought I would write a few things about my wedding in case it would help any of you. We had around 65 friends and family join us on June 11 at 6:30. We did a Friday night wedding because it was cheaper. I was a little worried about this, but family and friends are still talking about how well it worked out because they still had Saturday and Sunday to travel/relax. We had our ceremony and reception at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in downtown Charlotte. It was absolutely beautiful and went perfectly. We were not members of the church, so we paid a fee that included the church 2 hours prior, the ceremony, flowers at the altar, a wedding director and someone to greet guests (hand out programs if needed, etc). You can bring your own minister. We chose to have our reception at the church for a few reasons--the Parish Hall is gorgeous, we didn't want people to have to travel from the ceremony and if you have your wedding at the church, they made it very economical to have your reception there. We used La-Tea-Das catering which was AWESOME. They took care of things that I didn't even know catering companies did. The food was amazing and hot, the service was awesome..they sent us back with to go boxes and our champagne to the hotel. I can't say enough good things about them! You can also bring your own beer and wine which was a HUGE plus. They did let us serve beer and wine in the Parish Hall. We used Boogie Nights Entertainment (Michael Branson). He was wonderful and took a lot of time with me to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it and kept everyone informed about things going on during the evening. I was also impressed with his price- $175 for the first hour and $100 after that (no travel charge). I used Todd Murphy Events for my bouquets and he was amazing. They turned out exactly how I imagined..but better! One of the few posts that I have was asking about Jere and Ashley Dotten who were photographers. No one had really heard of them on here. I will say that they were the best thing we did for this wedding! I never asked Jere to come to my rehearsal, but he did so that he could see the lighting of the church, etc. The day of the wedding,Jere and Ashley and an assistant photographer were there! I never thought I would have three photographers! They are such genuine people and amazing photographers. They have put some of our pictures on their blog..check them out!!-
www.jeredotten.com. I could not be more pleased with them. They also did our engagement pics and bridal portrait which are on there too.
We went to Cancun for our honeymoon and stayed at The Royal and we had a blast! I can't believe it's all over! Reading posts and looking at wedding stuff is more fun now that I'm not so stressed out!
