Chief Hosa

Has anyone used this site in Golden for a wedding?  If so, what did you think of venue and when did you use it?

Thanks,  Lisa

We aren't using it, but we did consider it for our wedding. It's a nice venue; very Colorado, lots of dark wood and stone. It also has good views of the mountains from certain spots and is relatively inexpensive. Our major issue with it was that it's very loud outside because it's close to the highway. Given that we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony, it just didn't make sense to have to talk over the noise of the cars. We ended up going with the Boettcher Mansion, just FYI.

a former knottie, Lauren (aka "littlemissgreeneyes"), had her wedding there in Nov '08...it was beautiful!  She's on the nest often if you want to page her there.  She's got LOTS of pictures & vendor reviews in her bio & I'm sure she'd be able to give you some good feedback!
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!

We are using it in September for ours. It's affordable and I am hoping it all works out. The noise outside is annoying but we are still having an outdoor ceremony. Fingers crossed it all goes well. My biggest issue so far is that they double booked our date and didn't tell us until I had already sent out our Save the Dates! They tried getting us to pick a new date but I refused so we are now having a morning ceremony instead of evening which is actually saving us more money. I'm still bothered that it took them weeks to figure it out after we signed the contract but whats done is done.

Kaylee, thank you so much for your insight. As for the noise I'm sure when you get all your folks on the deck, with your music and bridal party it will be just beautiful and exactly what you imagined.  Saving money with an AM event is even better so it’s a WIN WIN and more money that you and Matt can have in your pockets!   I looked at the sight yesterday and I believe it had been locked up for a while so it was kind of stuffy inside.  My parents are worried that it will be like that for the entire event.  I absolutely love it and my fiancé is deployed right now so it’s kind of an uphill battle.  I think I’ll stick to my first instincts and go for it.  When my fiancé gets home from Afghanistan I’m sure it will be just perfect for us. God bless you Kaylee and have an absolutely wonderful day.  Don’t forget to take time out after the ceremony to have time for the two of you as I’m sure you’ll be pulled in all directions once  you set foot in the site. Lisa

We looked at it and it was very Colorado.  We ended up passing on it because we thought it was too noisy, a little too small, and was too dark inside.  We also didn't like the fact that the bathrooms were really close to where people were eating. We ended up going with Boettcher Mansion.

Thanks! We are excited and nervous and everything else that comes with all the planning. It was a little stuffy when we looked at it too, but it was also pretty cold out and they had the heaters on. I am hoping that we can get there nice and early and get all the doors and windows opened and have fresh air moving around inside. I am hoping the September weather lets us keep it open the entire time so there is a breeze the whole time. Good luck! I will try to remember to let you know how ours goes! I will put up pics too. Also good luck to you man! I have many friends who have come and gone from the "sandbox" and its rough stuff over there! I will keep him in my thoughts, I think Chief Hosa would be a nice place to come back to, to enjoy a wedding and start a marriage! Wink
