help!

So in March I found the perfect venue Scottlyn Yards and Lofts I fell in love immediately. I purchased my dress and started buying decor and made my save the dates which should be here next week. Anyway now the place is no longer able to do weddings!? What do I do? Any other affordable barn venues that anyone knows of? I am one devastated bride here. :

The Scottlyn Yards doesn't do weddings anymore!?  Why?
I looked there too and it was nice!
The Big Red Barn in Bennington - but it is not the same feel as the one in Blair. (But runs about $2,000 less than Scorrlyn Yard).
Also some barns in Neb City - but that's kind of far.
Wunderrosa Winery in Roca has a barn - also far.
Not sure if I am being helpful!  But I am so sorry your venue fell through!

I have heard that the one in Bennington is closed now too.
Something about zoning laws and things wrong with the foundations and stuff like that.
Scottlynn yards is able to finish out the year and thats it.

i loved both those places : the Nebraska city arbor lodge is a little pricey so we went with Bellevue Berry farm. not the fun exterior or the loft but they have three different barns and are very affordable.

You're kidding... I am supposed to be getting married there next June!  I put down a deposit and everything!  I actually emailed them last week and she was "crazy busy" and would reply with more detailed info this week but I haven't heard anything yet... I'm freaking out now!!

We found out because my fiance called to ask about table sizes and how many we were going to use. She said that she just found out and they told her she could finish out her year. We also put down a deposit and she said we would be refunded. I'm unsure if he talked to her again. I would defiantly call and check tomorrow.

I called 3 times yesterday and no answer.  You had the venue booked for April?  I wonder if/when they planned on calling those of us that have it booked.  A month before?!  It's going to be tough finding another venue that's available on the same date.  I guess I'll just keep calling today.

I hope everything works out for you.

Yes. April 27,2013. My save the dates came in the mail the day after I found out. I hope you get a hold of them and get your venue figured out as well. :

Check out the Aspen Room... It is not a 'barn', but has the rustic vibe as it is a 'log cabin'.  Fits 200-250...  Exteremely reasonable prices.

Does anyone know why this venue is closing or if they are just selling it to new owners?

I'm supposed to be getting married there April 6th! I'm right there with you. I just got a letter yesterday with a check for my deposit back! I'm absolutely flabbergasted at why they would be closing.  Now the wedding is 6 months away, and things that I thought were done, certainly aren't now!
    You definitely aren't alone!
I wish you luck in finding a new place!!

My name is Stephanie ... There is a Reception Hall that is located approximately 1/2 way between Omaha and Lincoln, just a minute or two off the interstate. However, it is not a Barn.  Our Reception Hall seats 450 Banquet-Style or 1000 Theatre-Style. We have a full bar right inside the Hall for your guests. You can make it a cash bar, or WHATEVER you prefer (You will not be able to provide your own alcohol... it would be sold from our bar directly to your guests (or a tab would be run for you if you prefer an open bar scenario) . For an extremely reasonable rental fee of only $800, we provide the banquet tables, chairs, linens (your choice of black or white), soft drinks (including soda, lemonade, iced tea, coffee) , and 2 bartenders (our bartenders work for tips) for the night. We will set up the tables and chairs to your specifications AND we will do the clean-up at the end of the night. You could choose whoever you like to cater the event (your caterer would need to provide the hall with a 20% gratuity ... based on their bill to you). I realize this is very INFORMAL and limited information, but if you would like to learn more (or you would like to see our facility) , you can contact me on my cell phone @ (402) 617-4316. We do not "waive" the "caterer's gratuity" to the hall, but we are happy to talk with you about the specifics of your situation. I would love to visit with you soon. Thank You
