thePros???

Hey ladies! has anyone used thePros.com for any of their bookings? My fiancee found their site and it seems like their prices are too good to be true for photography/videography/dj's............is it my dream (price) come true or a big ol smoke screen in front of a money pit???

I wouldn't use thepros - they're too large of a company to really care about their clients IMO. I believe you can't select the actual photographer or videographer who will show up on your day (you may be able to pay extra to know who will be there, but I'm not sure).

The Pros and Bella Pictures work this way. You get a great deal, but you are dealing with an administrative company who gives you the name of your photog and video guy maybe the week before your wedding. They have a detailed questionnaire that asks you about your vision of your day and they do get a lot of detail. but you really don't have an opportunity to get to know your photographer ahead of time. You might be able to set up a meeting or a phone consult when you get the persons name, but it all depends on time. Even still, you aren't finding out who will  be shooting on your wedding day until a few days or a week in advance. You need to decide if that's something you are ok with. Only you and FI can decide that. But yes, the rates are very good.

Heard bad things. They are hit or miss. Check out suggestions from everyone on here, you will definitely get a great deal. My photographer is http://www.theredsweatshirt.com Red Sweatshirt Photography. Very reasonably priced, talented and fun.

My understanding (I forget where I heard this along the way) is that they get their photographers from CraigsList and pays them only $300 - $400.  So you hire ThePros for a bunch of money and end up working with a photographer you wouldn't hire on your own.

There are too many talented and reasonably priced phtoograpers out there to want to deal with these kind of companies.  Do a search and you will find MANY horrible stories of days that were ruined by this company.
