Sunday

Morning! who else is awake? We were able to sleep with all the windows wide open last night and it's freaking amazing outside. Like 55* and not humid for once. I am a happy lady this morning. :)

What's up for the day? H had a few friends over yesterday and they almost finished moving the rocks from the front of our house. woo hoo. Then I got an email from my CL posting and someone wants to come pick up the rest!

Re: Sunday

  • Morning Steph, sounds like a successful day indeed.  It is so hot and humid here in NY.  Ugh.  Yesterday we spent the entire day on the river.  It was so hot I was in the water most of the day.  Not complaining!  Today we are in for high winds, thunderstorms, and large hail.

Andplusalso, 31 days for you!  So cool!
  • Sounds good Steph!  You're getting so close - wow.

It's only 57* now, and yesterday's high was just 75*.  Perfect.

I'm just hanging out with Muenster having some coffee.  He's such a snuggler when the weather is cooler.  We're supposed to hike with DH's BFF today.  No plans yet, though.

  • Maybe cooler weather is coming your way, Ski? I think this is the first day/night we've been in the 50s since April they said on the news. Les, both of our dogs have been super snuggly lately. I kind of love it, even though they take up way too much room.
  • Yeah.  We still keep the window open at night, and both boys like to sleep on the bed.  Muenster likes to get between my knees, so I can't move.  At least the dog knows to stay on the floor.

I love a snuggly pet, Helmut loves to snuggle, what he doesn't see to understand is that he is not a small dog.  He even likes to snuggle with my daughter's cat Nana when they are together.  Funny stuff.

Les, where are you hiking today?  I love hiking!
  • Hi Ski!  Probably somewhere in Cheyenne Canon, in the foothills of Pikes Peak.  We have some amazing hikes within a 15 minute drive.

  • Morning, everyone. I'd kill for some cool weather...it's been revoltingly humid the last few days, and it's wearing on me a little more than usual this year. I was really tempted to go up North to the cottage and go out on the lake, but with my luck, I'd end up having this baby in the bush. So, instead, I stayed home.

Today is an Ikea trip with the ILs and H. MIL and FIL bought us a beautiful glider and ottoman for the nursery and they thought they'd come down to visit us for the day and drop it off. I've tidied the house already and am waiting on a load of sheets to finish in the wash. It's all terribly exciting. ;)
  • Sept bride, the heat is brutal when you are with "watermelon".

p.s.  love your sig, you are beautiful.
  • Thanks, guys. It's just a screen shot of a photo, but I was seriously getting depressed looking at my old photo where I still had a waist. I'm ready for this watermelon to make his appearance, but he's a hostile tenant who doesn't want to move out.

I'm hungover. Its really REALLY hard not to drink too much at osheaga when they have hundreds of beer guys walking everywhere with trays of the stuff. Lastnight after seeing snoop, we got off the metro, went the wrong direction and totally got lost and my feet are effing killing me. Today is more wandering and then we see the shins, metric, bloc party and the black keys! Though, I might sit the bloc party out and watch city and colour instead cause the stage the bloc party is on is so far away and it conflicts with the band ahead and after so.... Ya. First world problems!
  • Sounds fantastic, Nebb.  Have fun!

  • Nebb, you're picking City and Colour over Bloc Party? BLASPHEMY! Although, I can't really argue with your rationale. Is it as hot there as it is here?

Humidex was in the 40s yesterday. The scene verte stage they're on is across the park, you have to walk through the forest, across a huge bridge of stairs, then further through the forest and it'll be wicked crowded so it will probably take 15plus minutes. Either metric or the shins ends right as they're starting and then one of the two starts just as they're ending so we would either miss some of metric and the shins or most of bloc party. Also, it'll be hot as hell and I hate rushing in the heat.
  • Aww Sept, I love the pic! You're so close! It's going to be baby-city here soon and I can't wait!!!

I just woke up. H and I went to bed at like 10:30 but managed to stay up talking/catching up till past midnight (I guess that's what happens when we don't talk for three days).

Nothing huge planned today. Church and heading into town to clean out my classrooms at my old school, and then probably stopping at the cemetary so H can pay his respects to Gpa.  Then nothing but the couch and movies. It will be fabulous just laying around the rest of the day.
  • Have fun today, Nebb!  I'm glad you're enjoying the weekend, despite the hangover ;)

Edie- no, the guy we bought the house from was a lazy idiot.  There were landscaping rocks about 6 feet out from teh front of the house and it looked ridiculous, so H pulled the trim back. The guys hauled all of the rocks to the backyard (by our lilacs along the fence) and we'll try seeding it this fall.

<div>Thanks! I'm hoping it'll look a lot... cleaner... after we get some grass seeded there. </div>
  • Hi guys!

I just got finished with a workout and I went to the commissary to get dog food and some apples and peanut butter. I love our grocery bill when H is gone. I'm missing him today. He is on mission so there has been no communication for 20 days and there won't be any for another 3 weeks.

BUT it is raining. I went out in shorts and a t-shirt and didn't die sweating. I think I'll watch some lifetime movies today.

    Sept- You look beautiful!

Steph- Did H's friends stay late?

  • Looks good Steph! Ha, it reminds me of the landscaping pics on Young House Love :)

Happy Belated B-days edie and Anna!

Morning!! Going to see Dark Knight sometime this morning. H just texted me (he is still in bed upstairs) if "it was time for me to go get mcdonalds"

But it does sound delicious so I will probably go get some.
  • We heard that once, too, Duds. Glad to know it works well! The guys found so many roots and rocks even like 6 inches down. I hate the guy who owned the house before us.

Hike- they all left by like 9pm, so not too bad :)
  • G'Morning (for the next 15 minutes).

Steph, the yard looks great!  And I can't believe how close you and Sept both are.

I need to go cancel my gym membership today.  I haven't used it once since I started working (oops) and there isn't a facility nearby where we are moving in October.  Other than that, H and I might go  see The Dark Knight later since we have a free movie ticket to use.

This week is H's birthday  (the 7th), my birthday (9th) and our 2nd anniversary (14th).  Craziness.  We agreed not to spend too much money though since we are closing on our house in October and need to buy furniture, lawn care stuff, moving expenses, etc.  Plus we are going to FL at the end of October for H's 10 year HS reunion, so we have to buy plane tickets soon.

And I am irrationally irritated that I am turning 30, but H is only turning 29 because he still has another year left in his 20's and I don't.

  • Gregger's and I are going on vacation today.  We are flying to Boston.  I am really excited to see my family, but I am dreading the airpot/airplane with a baby.  Thankfully it is a direct flight!

Sept - are you actually ready for the baby to come now?  I was convinced that gregory would be late, and he arrived 2 weeks early...  I wasn't fully prepared!  (No car seat set-up, no towel in the car for broken water, etc)

  • Good morning! I feel kind of like crap today. H and I went to Shreveport for his game and we rode the charter bus with the rest of the team. We left at noon and got back at 4 am this morning. I just woke up but I'm sore and still tired. Also, I've been having some intense chest pains. It's on the left side and it's this awful stabbing pain. It comes and goes but its really bad shen I do have them. The hypochondriac in me is freaking out.
