Vent: Why Does Everything Need a Poem?

Just an observation, but what's with all the poem requests on the various boards?  I need a cookie bar poem!  I need a guest book poem!   Does anyone have a candy buffet poem?  OMG - stop with all the poems.  Last I heard, you are not Dr. Seuss.  Most of the poems are B.A.D. and juvenile.  I promise your guests will figure out how to sign the guestbook or pick up some cookies and put it in their bag even though you haven't written a poem about how to do it.  Scouts' Honor.

    I'm including a cute little poem about how I don't want any boxed gifts at my wedding!  It's going right in the invitation!

    i've been planning my wedding for about 5 months now and this is the first i've heard of wedding poetry! haha, not gonna happen at my wedding. although, a nice poem to read to my mother asking her politely not to be the drunk at my wedding might be lovely :)
