Help with heat induced chafing!

While trying on my bridal gown for just 10 minutes I was very hot and starting to get sweaty despite the fact that my gown is very light...and that was without wearing the bridal slip! I am nervous about chafing my inner thighs on my big day because of all the walking and inevitable sweating. I want to be comfortable...any suggestions?

Years ago there used to be things called "petti-pants-slips" or something like that. They were an undergarment that was made like a pant, loose, not like a girdle, in a silky fabric. If you can't find something like that, try a pair of short pajama bottoms that go down long enough to cover your thighs, but don't add bulk.

I'm using a long line spanx type panty. Not sexy or pretty but nothing under the dress really is. LOL!

I wore spanx shorts in 95 degree weather. no chafing.

You'll think this is nuts, but it works! I use antiperspirant (the solid type). It stays put longer than baby powder, and is slippery, and (of course) prevents sweating, which is the whole problem.

lanacain also just came out with an anti-chaffing lotion. used it at a parade in 95 degree heat in a dress last week and it was amazing! but i'm also a fan of spanx!

My husband had major problems while we lived in FL and a friend suggested (believe it or not) Diaper cream. that works for him but for me I'll 2nd the idea of using regular deoderant...i've done that plenty of times!

Wow, this is a problem that I didn't even think about (which is strange because i've had problems with it plenty of other times!). Another question to add on - do things like deodorant and baby powder still work under sheer pantyhose?

Spanx! Mine go right to the knee, they're super light-weight and wick away any sweat! They're Higher Power ($36), David's Bridal has an almost identical brand for I think $20. They're sized just like pantyhose (based on height and weight). I've worn about 30 different styles of spanx in my life, and these are the most comfortable.

I am have used a few different t hings before. I'm planning on using Spanx to prevent the inevitable chaffing, however have considered using a cream for biking, that is available at some sports stores, I can't remember what its exactly called, but is a heavy duty cream. Otherwise i've done the deodorant route too!
