Poughkeepsie Vendor Reviews

I got married October 16, 2010 in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Florist:  Maryanne's Floral Garden:  This is a small buisness and the owner works with you directly through the whole process.  I wanted somewhat un-tradiational wedding flowers (not standard roses but more of a fall arrangement).  The bouquets were GORGEOUS!  She understood what I wanted exactly.  Our order changed several times (Grandma's not coming anymore... actually she is again...).  Maryanne kept up with all the changes, had the flowers labled correctly the day of (and if you knew our extended step families, you'd understand how difficult this was).  She was 15 minutes early to both the church and the venue where everybody was getting ready.  She incorporated a photo of my late grandmother in my bridal bouquet too.  She was awesome!  We got flowers for 30 people  (I told you... seriously extended step families) and two big arrangements for our church and it was $950.  She even had some extra flowers so she put them in a vase and had the venue put them around the room.

DJ:  Timothy Reynolds (Google him).  He was great.  He showed up an hour early.  Had equipment for the cocktail room and the reception room.  He went over the names with us several times, ensuring that they were pronounced correctly.  He sent us all the songs that weren't standard wedding songs to make sure he had the correct versions for our special dances.  The dance floor was going all night!  He times the speeches well and all the special events (cake cutting etc).  He wasn't cheesy at all (nobody had to YMCA or chicken dance).  He made sure everybody had fun all night.  For about $1200, it was worth it.
