CAKE VS. PIE

We are having a country style wedding in June with a county picnic themed reception. I would really like to have slices of pie because I really do not care for cake. My fiance just told me today he wants to have cake instead of pie! Grr! Is there some way we could compromise??? Any ideas??

There's no reason that you can't serve pie and cake.

Do both!! You can even find some cute cakes that incoporate a country-outdoorsy feel.

Both. A nice, light, summery cake and a yummy fruity pie or cobbler with ice cream. My FI hates cake and loves blackberry cobbler, so I want us to have a cake for the ceremonial part (a small, simple one, plus it's a good way to feed a lot of people) and his blackberry cobbler on the side. I'm just making sure the cake and cobbler flavors go well together.
