Going to my First Bridal Show- Advice Please!

Hey Ladies,

I am going to my first bridal show this coming weekend at Sauder Village in Archbold, Ohio with my mom and my FMIL.  I was wondering if anyone had any good advice for me or any dos and don'ts .  I have a lot of time before my wedding, but I want to get an idea of who some of the vendors are in my area.

I am planning on giving out my email to as few (if any) vendor as possible, I read all over the boards that they just bombard you or spam you as much as possible.

Any other advice?

Thanks a ton!

I would print up mailing labels with your and your FI's name, wedding date, address and email address.  If you want to register for any of the give aways, those are the biggest items each vendor asks for, and it's much easier than filling out forms all day.

But If you haven't set up a seperate email account for wedding stuff, I would highly suggest it.  It's  just easier.

I've found myself lying at the shows, just telling vendors I've already got everything as they ask (ie Do you have a photographer yet) because I hate being hounded.  I don't like lying, but they are aggressive.  I understand why, I just get annoyed by it.

Can you post how the show is?  I was thinking about going, because I think it'll be different since it's at Sauder but I just don't have the time right now for the drive.

Make sure you take notes. I took the handouts that people gave me with pricing and details and wrote right on them. Then when you get home you can remember details and can throw away information that you don't want instead of keeping it and getting confused. I found it was a great way to taste a variety of cakes without having to meet with each person as an appointment. Not all wedding cake is good Wink. It is also a chance to look at photographers and get an idea of what sets them apart. Bridal shows are a great idea for people with busy lives and cramped schedules ! Have fun and let us know how it goes.
