Check: wedding shoes!!!

So in the big picture, this is kind of a minor check, but in my shoe-loving brain, it's a BIG one!!! I got my wedding shoes yesterday, and on sale!!!! Here's a pic:

They are Steve Maddens. Originally $150. I stopped by the mall on my way home from work yesterday because I wanted to check out sports bras at VS. Steve Madden is on the way, so I stopped in like I usually do to gawk at all the awesomeness. I had seen this particular shoe many months ago and instantly knew it was THE shoe for my wedding, but the price and some not-so enthusiastic comments from my mom and sis discouraged me from purchasing.

Then yesterday, I spotted them on the 30% off rack and ran right over! I looked at the sticker price, which was marked down to $90... then a sales associate told me that it was 30% off the sticker price, and I was sold!!!! I got my long-coveted, dream wedding shoes for $67 (including tax)!!!! I am so freakin' excited (as if you couldn't tell by all of my obnoxious exclamation points)!

  • Woo hoo! Did we discuss your shoes before? I feel like I remember telling you to go with these,  they are hella fierce!
  • Also. . . will you teach me how to walk in heels? Mine are only 3 1/2" and I totter around in them like a little kid wearing her mom's shoes. I'm getting better but I feel like I look ridiculous (aside from the fact that I almost always "practice" while wearing sweats/pajamas) and think I would probably tip over if I had to walk very fast or bumped in to anything. You'd think a girl with a fiance a whole foot taller than her would know how to walk in heels. . . but in my case, you'd be wrong. :)

Are you kidding? I totter on anything over 1 1/2-2 inches, lol. Just not a heel person I guess.

  • Thanks ladies! I kinda AW'd myself, but I couldn't help it... I was (and still am) so excited about my shoes, especially because I got such a good deal on them!

Walkers, these are the shoes that I mentioned on here a while back. And you know what, I was totally hopeless in heels when I first started wearing them... it has taken me a long time to get to the comfort level I'm at now, and even now I still have a long way to go! One trick I have learned: focus on putting your toe down first. I know that is inevitable in heels, but I found that if I really concentrate on making sure my toe makes first contact with the ground, I feel a lot more stable and confident!

These shoes are 5.5 inches tall, which is as high as I'll go. I'm only 5'0", and I love my height because it means I can get away with wearing tall shoes! My poor FI is 5'7" and wishes he were taller. When I wear big shoes I'm almost as tall as he is. But he is also pretty wide since he's a bodybuilder, so I don't cut him any slack. Hehe.

</div><div>Those are really cute!! I gotta say, I am fully jealous of how comfy your feet are going to be on the big day! I am considering buying some glittery Toms to give my feet some relief. Hehe.
