October 2013 Weddings

Were you a flower girl?

I'm actually kinda bitter over the fact that I was never a flower girl - my cousin got married when I was 8 and didn't include me :(

Were you ever a flower girl? Did you sucessfully make it down the aisle? (I'm not certain all the children will actually walk down the aisle successfully - oh well) Did you cry? What did you wear? Were you nervous or excited? Tell the story!

FI was a ringbearer when he was 3, and cried!

Re: Were you a flower girl?

  • Aw, don't worry, SewInLove, I was one when I was 5 but have no recollection of it whatsoever, so my life is neither richer or poorer because of it :-)

I've always liked the photo my parents have of me as a flower girl, but I can't say that that has influenced my existance much

The only thing I know about it, and it's just from many family member's telling the story, is that during the ceremony I would periodically turn around, look for my other girl cousins and stick my tongue out at them because I was a flower girl and they weren't lol

I was a lil stinker :-)  It's funny hearing it because that is SO not my personality for the majority of my life, I've always been rather shy, reserved and modist, but I guess I had a bit of diva in me when I was younger!

I wasn't ever a flower girl - and we're not having one (or a ring bearer). We don't see the need for them, but we're having a small wedding party. (MOH, 1 maid, BM & 1 GM)

ETA: Neither of us have little cousins we're close to, and no neices or nephews for either of us yet, so, that's part of the reason too.
  • I was about 2 when I was the flower girl for my aunt and uncle. Made it down the aisle, but then wanted some raisins lol.

  • I was the flower girl when I was about 3 and I really don't remember much of it besides getting to ride n a limo, haha.
I was the flower girl again when I was about 9. I remember I wore a cream colored dress and my aunt made me a little basket and fake flower petals to toss/drop. I remember thinking I was too old to be a flower girl, but the ring bearer was one year older than me so I figured it was okay.
