Center Piece Question

Hi ladies...
My wedding is in Feb, and I've had some time on my hands so i've been working on a bunch of weddding details. i started to think about centerpieces... Anyway my question is when did you all finalize your center pieces? Am I to early since I haven't even picked out linens yet?  Or can I start buying stuff and playing with it to see if my ideas come together the way i want them to?

I feel the same way!  My wedding is February as well, and am anxious to get some stuff done.   I have bought a bunch of stuff for centerpieces, mostly different height cylinders and various sized votive holders.  I am also thinking about small stuff like table numbers and linens.

My only suggestion is to not spend a fortune before you have a semi-clear picture.

Good luck!  Keep me posted on your progress!

I would start with the linens. Do you have your colors set yet? At least find out if you can rent/purchase the exact color you want and then get started on the centerpieces.

Yup I've had my colors since the begining (red, white, and some black) and I'm pretty sure I know which linens i'm getting although I haven't actually reserved them yet.

I finalized mine this weekend. My MOH came down and she has a better decorative eye then me.
So we picked out things and got it all figured out.

I think it is a great idea to start thinking about colors, linens and what you think you might like.
My advice and this is only because I just went through it...if you are one that may change your mind, hold off on a final decision.  I thought I knew EXACTLY what I wanted far in advance and bought all the stuff we needed.   Here we are 2 months away and after searching, looking, and more looking on the knot (it's all their fault lol)plus other online places I have decided to change them!  YIKES!

Not saying you will do this too - just something to keep in mind!

I just asked the venue what standard centerpieces they already had, and the catering director showed me four beautiful centerpieces.  I picked one (a lantern with a candle inside) and when the venue staff set the tables, they put these lantern centerpieces on too.  FOR FREE.  Might try asking your venue before you spend a lot of money and time on centerpieces...
