DH is having sugery in early January to have bone spurs removed from his ankle. It's not a 'mandatory' surgery, but he (and the Dr) think it will give him significant pain relief. He wants to get it out of the way as early as possible because it's his job's slow season.
Last night, he comes home and tells me, "Yeah, so because I'm having surgery we missed out on an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World for just you and me to go to the "Best of the Best" conference! That sucks, right?"
I was pissed. I was like, "Why would you even tell me this?!" He KNOWS that a) I'd chomp at the bit to travel, b) take a trip where it was just me and him, and c) I LOVE DISNEY and doing it w/o kids is a glorious, glorious thought. So, I was pretty snotty about it.
He was all, "Well you would have found out anyway." IDK how. I don't talk to his co-workers.
And he told me his bosses wife is upset we're not going because she wanted to hang out with me. Boo, DH boo.
AND AND AND, we would be staying ON SITE at Disney and they are one of our affiliated resort partners and I can NEVER get in through our employee vacations program. They're restricted. The knowledge I could gain and share with clients would also be a huge value to me.
I'm mostly over it. But I'm definitely giving myself a nice trip somewhere next year after I'm done playing nursemaid to DH for his recovery.
