Anyone having their pet be in the wedding?

I keep going back and forth if I want my dog in the wedding to be our ring bearer or not. I keep finding the cutest pics of the bride/groom with their dog. My hairstylist loves dogs and has offered to hold him during the ceremony after the walks down the aisle with our flower girl and then drop him off somehwere after, but I don't know, sounds like it might be an extra stress and headache that I don't want to deal with on the day of the wedding. Is anyone else having their pets in the wedding?

  • OMG I want my dog in our wedding so bad :( But we are getting married in a church so no pets and she is a little b*tch :)

I was at a wedding last month and she had her cute little Pomeranian in the wedding and I thought it was adorable!  I say do it!

I wanted to have ours but decided not to for all of the reasons you listed above.  Plus I would be worrying about my dog with the weather being hot and not having water close by.  It was a fun idea but it is just too much extra stress!

  • Ditto Colleen and LADY!

In lieu of my dogs being in the wedding (my black lab has since passed, as well) I had a seller on Etsy crochet me 2 little toy dogs that match my 2 dogs (a lab and a frenchie) and my 2 ring bearers will be carrying them down the aisle instead of the normal pillows.  The dogs have giant rings tied around their necks with a pretty ribbon (rings not pictured).

Animals are not allowed at our ceremony venue so we are going to take a picture with our dogs and put it in a frame that has a cute quote about us being a family. We'll display the frame at our reception near the guestbook and escort cards.

  • I would LOVE Clyde to be in the wedding...but he's afraid of big noises (piddles when I start the vacuum even though I let him know its out by leaving it out for a few minutes so he can sniff it...) & when he doesn't know where he is at he croutches as low to the ground as possible...it'll be too much to worry about =(   We've also decided to board him after some very long thoughts on my part...=(
  • I'd never even consider having Tucker in the wedding. He's a psycho already, I don't need him scaring other people with his overly affectionate kisses and crazy tail thumping. His tail knocks EVERYTHING down. I can't count how many times he has nearly poked my eye out from wagging into my face.

Haha, actually he's also sweet :) It'd just be too much of a hassle- where do we have him go after he walks? Who will be responsible for him?

I have a overly affectionate dog named Tucker too!

  • We are having our dog in our wedding. Our nephew is walking him in. We are being married outside at a dog friendly hotel.  He can be inside when we are getting ready but can't be in the banquet hall.  We are having the trainer we use come to the wedding to take care of him before and after.  We would die if anything happened to him so having someone who's responsible for just him and his well being was a must for  piece of mine.  After the ceremony she will take him home and feed him.

  • I wanted my chihuahuas in the wedding sooooooo bad, it just would be impossible for someone to leave the wedding ang drop them back ff at home lol
  • My mom and my FI REALLY want our dogs in the wedding. But we have 3 and one is a hyper lab so I feel like it's too much. We obviously can't choose just one dog, but if we could, or if we only had one, I would TOTALLY do it.

  • We are having our dog Chili at the ceremony (half lab, quarter husky, quater malamute... 100 lbs of puppy). FMIL offered to walk him down the aisle. She is super familiar with him since he lives half the day @ FILs house cause FI takes Chili with him to work everyday at the farm. Our ceremony is in the middle of a wheat field and he is used to hanging out in fields cause that's pretty much his job lol I would never tie the rings to him tho because it would be just our luck that he would see a rabbit and take off hehe FMIL is making him a bow tie :D it's perfect cause we always joke about how his fur patterns look like he's wearing a tuxedo

  • I am having my toy poodle as the ring bearer in our wedding. He will walk down with one of the bridesmaids (since there is one more than groomsmen) and the best man (FI brother) will hold him during the ceremony. So he can be apart of it all and right next to us the whole time.
    I am so excited.
