Retro and Vintage Weddings

Hi! New Here!

Hi Ladies! I didn't realize there was a vintage board until yesterday! My name is Jasmine and I am getting married in Toronto at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on July 24! I didn't really plan to at the beginning, but my wedding has definitely taken on a vintage feel.

My colours are dark purple and gold/sepia. We are having a candlelit ceremony at the hotel below and then going straight into the reception. Here are a few of my wedding details to give you a feel!

    Wow the Fairmont!

I'm from Toronto, also, but I'm living in Japan right now.  FI and I are getting married in the adirondacks in NY state.  We're also doing a purple lacey wedding and we'll be making those same paper doiley cones!

So great to have another Toronto girl on the boards.  Your wedding looks beautiful!

  • I LOVE the Royal York Hotel!!! We would go there when I was little.  I'm from Detroit, MI and our trips to Toronto were always our favorite because we got to stay in the lap of luxury at the Royal York.  Congratulations.

I'm not necessarily a retro/vintage bride, but I'm a winter bride with an art deco touch to my wedding.  Does that count? :)

  • Thanks for the warm welcome girls!!!

Nukke - I'm working on my lacy cones today!! I dyed the doilies using tea so they have a sepia tone to them. : )
