Bridal Shower necessary?

Is anyone considering not having a bridal shower? There are older women in my family that would like to attend a shower to give advice, but since they are heavily involved in wedding planning, would you do it?

If someone offered to throw a shower, I wouldn't turn them down. It can always be something simple, so I wouldn't worry too much about them getting burned out or anything. ::)

I don't think I'd ever turn down a shower. They're all for everyone else's pleasure, really, but you get fed and people fawn all over you for a few hours. I'd take it.
