hair extensions

Hello beautiful brides!

I am interested in getting hair extensions for my wedding, and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this? is it difficult to take care of, what is the budget (including removal and care) --> is it worth it? or any other advice!

I used clip in extensions, and loved them. They're a lot cheaper than the "permanent" ones, plus they're way less damaging to your hair.

I'd def recommend the clip in ones also, I do hair for a living and that is your cheapest route. The ones we do at the salon are micro beads and can cost u up to 500 and up. They last awhile but its just costly.. Clip in's are very easy to put in and take out and you treat them like real hair (wash, curl, etc.). If this is only for your wedding day and events I'd go with them.

If you're prone to headaches or have sensitive scalp, you'll want to wear them around the house a few times to get used to them and to find out if there are any places you don't like them clipped. I found that when they were clipped at the crown of my head, they hurt my scalp and gave me a headache. I was able to tell my stylist that so she didn't put any there, and I was totally fine on the wedding day. I have a very sensitive scalp and get headaches easily, though, I know many people don't have any issues at all with them. They're fairly light.

i always say go with the double sided tape extentions as a stylist ive worked with MANY extentsions and in my opinion clip ins can be a pain in the butt ,

I wear the Sally clip-ins like the PP mentioned and I've never had a problem with them. I did have them put in professionally for my wedding. I've looked into permanent ones but good ones are too expensive where I live.

oh yes easy no doubt i just personally dont like them a lot of people have trouble putting them in properly even if they think theyre doing it right and you see their tracks and it looks horrible

Another stylist here and Sunnilove makes a great point! Clip ins need to definitely be put in correctly or you can look like a hot mess...... A few things to consider with clip in

A) how thick is your hair? bc if you do not have enough rows you can end up with the "scene hair" look

are you wearing a hairstlye where you will be able to sufficiently tease your crown to hide the tracks?

C) make sure they are real human hair or you will have a pile of burnt plastic once you try to curl them

D) what color is your hair? if you color your hair any color other than blonde you might be better off buying platinum and having your colorist color them with the same formula as you use on your hair so that they blend correctly!

BUT done correctly they can look amazing! Good Luck

I prefer the tape in extensions for myself also but I wear them year round. For just one day? Clip ins are great. But they absolutely must be cut first. I don't know how many brides I've had try and bring me brand new clip-ins and not realize they need to be cut and washed before the big day. They come kind of stringy so if you don't cut them to match the layers in your hair you will have a major drop off from your real hair to the extension hair. Even if you are wearing it all up and just need clip-ins for thickness it is still important to get them cut. Other than that I think they are a great solution.

I bought clip in hair extensions (real human hair so it can be styled). The 18" ones cost about $130 at Sally Beauty Supply. I wear them around the house. Mostly because they make me feel pretty. I'm waiting for a jersey shore trip so I can fully rock them out. Sadly, I'm only half kidding.

I just got "permanent" extentions put in, to find out if they bothered me before the wedding. Not going to lie, the first 2 days were really uncomfortable. But, after that, they've been great. Easy to manage, too. I have to go in once a month to get the beads tightened, but that's not really a problem. I love them and am so glad I decided to get them put in way before my wedding date.
