BUDGET WEDDING NEED TO RENT A PLACE FOR RECEPTION FOR UNDER $800

WE ARE ON A VERY STRICT BUDGET,PLANNING WEDDING BY MYSELF AND WE ARE PAYING FOR IT OURSELVES.  I AM INVITING A LITTLE OVER 200 GUESTS BUT YOU KNOW HOW THAT IS THEY WONT ALL SHOW.  I NEED A PLACE TO HOLD A RECEPTION IN THE AREAS OF LIBERTY,NORTH KANSAS CITY,PLEASANT VALLEY,EXCELSIOR, ANY IDEAS?  WE ARE TRYING TO KEEP IT UNDER $800 DOLLARS FOR THE HALL RENTAL SO WE CAN AFFORD FOOD AND THE OTHER STUFF MY TOTAL FUNDS FOR RECEPTION IS $1500-2000.

    First off, calm down, it will be okay (aka, CAPS not needed :-})!  Have you checked into VA halls, community centers, churches, etc?  They are going to be the least expensive.  I would encourage a cake only or appetizers reception.  A full blown dinner for, lets say 150 people, may break your budget.  Make friends with the DIY board, it will help you save tons!  Borrow center pieces or go to goodwill.  I suggest checking out Pinterest if you haven't already.  There are so many great ideas for cheap ways to make great things.  The girls here are great resources as well!
    When is the wedding?  When did you get engaged?  Congrats!!!!!

    LOL thanks I know I am a little frazzled.  Never imagined planning a wedding could be so stressful and expensive.

    I rented a place in Kearney,MO for 825 from 6am-1am the next day. Its pretty big also

    What is your date?  We are having our ceremony and reception at the platte county fair ground platte purchase building!  $550 and has tables and chairs and two kitchen areas!  Tons of space and we get keys on the thursday before and turn them back in on sunday! We are expecting around 150 people and there is plenty of room.

    Alexander Majors is fairly affordable.  It's a beautiful home that is a museum and they have a event barn with a loft.  I am getting married there in September.  I think Saturday is now $850.  http://www.alexandermajors.com/barn-rental/

    I am having my wedding on May 26th and Like you i only have so much for everything. I am renting the community center in Pleasant Valley. I blieve it can hold about 150. They are 300 from 8am to 2a and the have chairs and tables and a kitchen (the basement floor have a full catering kitchen). They do ask for a refundable deposite of 300 but other than that they are great. If you have time on Tuesday they will be open from 5p-7p. Its ran by two older people and they only allow you to veiw on tuesday at those times. You should check it out. Some decorations can also help make that space go from yuck to fabulous
